Release Date: October 25 2005

In this special edition for US gamers, Agetec has completely revamped the title with added features from its Japanese counterpart. Armored Core: Formula Front - Special Edition has everything the fans love from the Armored Core series plus so much more, such as, artificial intelligence (AI) designing and wireless head-to-head action. Building an unstoppable warrior to annihilate the competition has never been so much fun. Unlike the Japanese version, this game will allow you to control your robot, rather than rely upon AI. The game features multiple Arenas and a ranking system, customizable robots with hundreds of parts to choose from and connectivity to the PS2 version.

Here is a review I found that deflated my anticipation bubble. Everyone ought to read it:

This is the important part:
"Formula Front isn't a game--it's a mech maker and a battle viewer, but not a game."edited: May 17 2005

Uh, the Asian gaming community REVIVED gaming in the US. Namely Nintendo.
After companies like Atari and Coleco crashed the video game market in 1983, Nintendo decided to take a shot. Although they were laughed at and mocked, they decided to keep at it. CES 1984 wasn't great for them; the AVS was simply unattractive. At CES 1985, they unveiled the Nintendo Entertainment System, or the NES, for short. After planning, they released the system in New York City. It was very successful, despite the cloak of doubt and uncertainty left over the industry after 1983. Soon after, they released it in Los Angelas and several other large cities before going national. Thus, they revived gaming in the US. They did what noone else wanted to or could.
Anywho, at least you can control your bot' now. That's good news.

EB Games says one release date, but IGN says another. IGN pins the release date in September 2005.

Dangit!!!!!!!
The same thing keeps happening with release dates. WHO is the authority on release dates? Every site you go to has different dates on game releases. Even the game related sites like ign, gamespot, 1up, etc all have different dates. And some sites list dates for Japanese and US without telling which is which. SO FRUSTRATING.
Does anyone want to make money in this industry??
Give us accurate release dates for starters-
