Previously available only in Japanese, PoPoLoCrois is coming to an English speaking audience. This classic fantasy story features brand-new sequences from the animated TV series, new playable adventures, plus exciting battles with rich, vibrant colors and cell-shaded 2D graphics.
This game will contain 3 games, the original from the PS1, the PS2 sequel and an entirely new adventure.
It looks like a decent RPG, fairly pretty looking. I might give it a shot and buy it but the freaky deaky name and the non-cutting edge graphics will ultimately turn most PSP Owners off
dudes, don't be dissing on 2d games, old school is where it at fool. Final Fanstasy Tatics and Saga Frontier was 2d and it major kick ass on the ps1. I don't own any ps2 games but am sure there were some real solid 2d rpgs on it. Jebus just because it's 2d your gonna write off without giving it a chance. Plus 2d games less demanding on the battery = more rpg game time. Replay value has ta be high, you get three frigging rpgs for the price of one. I can't complian about that.
SpedRacer, i agree completely. Disgaea was 2D and for PS2 and it was great! Plus, what you mentioned about the battery life makes that even more important, unfortunatly this seems as though it was for GBA. If they put more detail into the drawings and made it look like Tales of Eternia (Anime-Esque) it would definitly be a hit.
"This is cartoon sh!t. Why the hell would i buy this when i can spend my money on 3d games."
ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah, funny right there.
seriously, " i can spend my money on 3d games" ahahahaha
anyways, glad to see a old school rpg. i hope nippon ichi makes a strat rpg soon like they did for the ps2. sad news about makai wars being put aside/canned
agreed, makai wars looked danm good 2d game. Maybe some publisher will pick it up and develop it into something.
Anyway back to populous
I think that the last adventure is gonna get the anime-esque look to it, along with the ps2 sequal. But the ps1 verision won't get any updates 2 it and remain old school. So i have read on other sites. But the storyline looks cool and world is intresting and I might cheak out the anime.
i'm totally getting this... looks like a load of fun.. Not to piss anyone off, but the current line of PSP games aside from Wipeout, Lumines and 1 of the racing games, sucks, horribly. I find myself sitting at my desk looking at my PSP collecting dust because i don't want to play NBA STREET or GIMP FOOTBALL 2008.. yes yes. games are coming out soon. Good games? maybe. GTA might be good, granturismo? I prefer playing with a wheel. what else? Coded arms looks like but i'll try it.. But games like this, are detailed, unique, fun, worth 49.99 (notice how there are 3 games on the umd).
Heheh - so, how old are the 2D-gripers? 12, or so?
Gameplay is king, kids. When you grow wizened and wiser, you too will know this. Until then, you may want to think twice (or even thrice) before posting idiocy that may come back to haunt you in your old age.
If you ask me the graphics on this look fine. I would be perfectly happy getting the original FF games released on the PSP in the original 8-bit splendor. This definitely looks to be a game that I will purchase. Digi makes a great point, there are a ton of lame games out right now. Sony dropped the ball not have a great RPG ready for release. Not talking trash about Brotherhood of Steel, but I want a real turn based RPG not a hackenslash.
I hope its like Tactics Ogre For the GBA.2D is kick ass for games like Marvel vs. Capcom (I hate Tekken like fighting games) and What made some Halo1 players say its better then Halo 2 is the game play and not the graphics, Its All about the game play!!!!!!
