This new addition to the SOCOM series, takes place in four locations, with Chile being new. After a mission is completed, there is a new 'Instant Action' feature which allows you to replay the mission with new objectives. There will also be functionality to allow PSP users to sync up their PS2 information via USB cable, allowing the progress in both games to affect the missions. Furthermore, weapon customization will also be possible.
As can be expected, both Ad-Hoc and Infrastructure co-operative play will be possible, with the ability to form clans and do team-based play. By default, Fireteam Bravo will have two instead of a four-man team. Controls will also be optimized for mobile play.
I wasnt so fond of the PS2 controls myself, but the voice recognition helped a bit. I seriously wonder how they will fit all those controls without the analog and the triggers, but maybe they'll find a way to make it more simplistic and turn out to be more fun
PLEASE make this the game I have been dreaming of. It must have everything the PS2 versions have. Voice-chat is a must. So is clan support. I really dont even care about the offline features. I want to play SOCOM online on my PSP. I know you guys can do it.
I thought about this game the day I got my PSP and the way they could make the controls work. They could make the X, Square, Cirle, and Triangle buttons for movement. The joystick could be aim. R would be fire. The D-Pad would be what the X and other buttons used to be, action, jump, talk, and stance. L would be a button modifier, so we can get more use out of the buttons, since there aren't as many buttons on the PSP. By holding L, R would choose weapons, like R2 on the PS2; the D-Pad would be just like it is on the PS2; the X and other buttons could be quick select, or something else, whatever is better on those buttons. Of course some buttons could be interchangeable, so there may be a better way than this.
