Eidos announces Free Running, the world's first ever video game based on the urban phenomenon of parkour. Parkour, the art of movement, is less a sport and more a way of life. Its participants, known as Free Runners or Traceurs, view the environment and its obstacles, urban or natural, as a series of challenges to be overcome. To the Traceurs, parkour has a philosophical appeal: they feel transformed by the experience, free from the grind of city life. Since its inception in Paris during the mid-1980s, it has spread across the globe and now has an international army of exponents and enthusiasts.
In Free Running, the concrete jungle becomes your urban playground as you run, vault, jump or climb over obstacles in the most fluid and flowing manner possible. Test the boundaries of human ability as you perform death-defying leaps and jaw-dropping trips across inner-city rooftops. To be crowned King of Parkour, you must master over 50 moves, tricks and stunts including 'Kong Vaults', 'Pharaoh Climbs', 'Rail Split Vaults' and 'Vertical Wall Runs' in a variety of game modes while racing against human or computer-controlled competitors.
Free Running has been developed in association with Sebastien Foucan, one of the French founders of the movement, and the UK's foremost Parkour collection, Urban Freeflow. To aid your progress, Sébastien appears in the game as your mentor, teaching you new moves and tricks. Members of Urban Freeflow also make an appearance as unlockable playable characters.
If you practice free running like I strated to then you will probably like this game. and think are there any real great games out there now. So even if its not the best game in the world it could still be alright for thoses who like the sport. I don't like tigerwoods PGA tour or Lumines butr that dosent make them stupid.if you dont like the game or dont want it put that in your oppion you dont like it and dont see the point or dont even waste your time typing. I only look at the games i want and talk about them why sit on my a$$ all day and curse off all the games I dont want.unless I have no life . which I do so I wont talk S#!t about other games.lets see you people (who cursed out this game) make a better game.Other wise if you want this game and think it'll be good dont listen to others listen to yourself and get it if not then ok.i gotta go freerun
i actually have been doing this sport for several years so i think that its pretty awesome, haha its funny because i know all of the guys in the game, most of them are french or english tho, no americans i'm pretty sure, if you want to see some real urbanfreeflow check out their website, urbanfreeflow.co.uk

well that is the site where i first started learning, you have to get good at gymnastics though to become a really good freerunner because alot of the stuff they do is gymnastic based, but if you look at the turtorials on urban free flow it will give you some good basics, this sport will probably become more popular here in a year or two more

Wow, never thought this was a sport! I use to play a game in the car with my hands or action figures and hold up my hand/toy up to the window and make them jump accross the roofs, and bulldings... Im gonna buy this game for sure
Imagine how UTTERLY RETARDED you must look doing this in real life. Still, a game where you pretty much just walk around a city...what's not to like? It's such a stupid and ridiculous idea, it's bound to be good.
