This indie favorite follows Napoleon Dynamite (Jon Heder), a quirky, ninja-loving teenager growing up in the far reaches of Idaho. Napoleon's life gets complicated when his shady Uncle Rico (John Gries) shows up, a shy girl (Tina Majorino) starts showing him some attention and his best friend Pedro (Efren Ramirez) decides to run for school president. Nominated for a Grand Jury Prize at Sundance in 2004.
yeah, watched this on DVD, didnt laugh much at all. i always hear stuff about this movie, but mainly from little kids. i dont know, maybe i'm getting too old or something. i admit it was quirky and had some points of interest, like his badass shirts lol. all together though, it felt like i had to force laughter at times. a lot of people told me that they liked it much better the second time around, but i couldnt watch it again. it could be me, i hated shrek to death at its utter stupidity and cliche jokes from elementary school even though it did so well in the theaters. besides maybe one genuine laugh at the movie, i honeslty think schindlers list was funnier. thats just me, all you napolean dynamite cult followers dont take it personally.
You know everyone in this forum has a friend just like him or at least know's someone just like him. Tell us about him......would make an interesting read.
Where is everyone coming up with these high prices on UMDs? Best buy near me has UMD movies for like $12 or so. Hardly say that costs more then a DVD unless you are digging in the budget bin of Sprawlmart.
