i have the shure ones that are 99$ they are far better then any other headphones. even the 149$ sony dj series. i havet tryd the headbanger ones but well i love mine. it makes the games soo much more. also working on building a small headphone amp that will intagrate the remote control for the psp.

I have the $180 Shures and they have excellent sound quality and noise isolation, and aren't uncomfortable. If you are looking for cheaper noise isolating headphones, I have heard good reviews of Sony's, which start at $20. link

I currently have the Shure E2C and have used some Sony MDREX71SL. The Sony ones were a lot cheaper but still excellent sound quality, but they kept breaking. I would stay well clear of crappy no name earphones as you get what you pay for.

i have listened to the $99 set of sures adn i was not impressed teh sound reproduction was very average and they had no low range whatsoever it was alllll hi's teh low end bottomed out extremely quickly and even sounded distorted. The sound, when not to low fo rthem to handle, was nice and smooth not sharp pretty clean anything i would expect form average-good quality headphones.

I have the sony fontopias ex-51's and they sound really nice. Comfortable to. Probably not in the same ballpark as the shures but there only like $30 at amazon and sound a hell of alot better than the ones the psp came with.

FilmGeek, it sounds like you didn't make a seal inside your ear to keep the air in. The low end is amazing on those earphones.

Fair enough, I can definaetly understand that some people don't like shoving huge blocks inside their head I'd never use another type of earphone or headphone other than a sound isolating in-ear bud though.

I just picked up some Shure e3c earbud. Wow! They sound great and are the most comfortable earbuds of headphone I have tried yet. The ear piece fits into your ear canal making a seal (sound isolation) which allows you to listen at much lower volumes without all the out side noise. This also give you much better base response. Like holding the Sony headphones right up against you ears. The great thing with the fitted ear piece (which comes in three sizes) is that it allows the cord and speaker to move around from body motion without changing the position in your ear. So if your doing any sports, bike riding, chewing gum the ear piece stays in place. Very cool. A little more expencive but well worth the money

I have the E2Cs and they wonderful little headphones which I picked up for $60 on buy.com a while back. While I love those headphones for long listening sessions or playing sessions I'm in need of a pair of headphones that are easier to put in real quick and stow away real quick.
