Action Replay MAX for PSP comes with everything you need to get the absolute most from your favourite PSP games. The AR MAX disc gives you easy access to thousands of specially created Powersaves, which you can then transfer to your PSP using the supplied USB Cable, and store on the supplied MAX Memory 64MB memory stick.
And remember, Powersaves are no ordinary saves. The CodeJunkies boffins who create these things are not only expert gamers, but they have the skills to hack into each game and make things happen that simply wouldn't otherwise. Awesome!
I beg to differ. Just picked up a AR Max for PS2 yesterday and it's great. I used to use a GameShark back in the day and things have gotten so much easier. The concept is simply that you can enter cheats, ie, unlimited health, lives, items, stats, etc. Not the best way to get the most value out of your games, but a good way to get through a tough spot or simply to beat a rented game that you're into but don't have the time to devote to playing through fully. OTOH, if you've already beaten a game, going through it with unlimited stats and health can be a fun way to search out all the secrets without the hassle of health and powering up.
Rather than having to type in loads of codes, the AR Max just let's you download a codebase and upload it to your memory card. Similarly, I expect the AR Max for PSP will allow you to download codes for all games (or just input ones you want). I'm not sure about the PSP version since no details have been released, but on the PS2 ver the included CD also allows you to do IM/chat, watch region-coded movies, manage your save games and a few other things.
Maybe not for everyone, but if it's anything like the PS2 AR Max, I'm definetly going to get one.
AR is the best Game Enhancer system ive tried them all on the different consoles ive had... Ive used GameShark, CodeBreaker, Regular Type in Codes and AR... AR BEAT THEM ALL!
I really liked codbreaker better because it actually uses direct hex codes, unlike AR's wierd propritary crap. But still, this will finally serve some justice to all those damn games that I got pissed at because I kept losing at them! BAM EAT THAT Computer Player 01!!
I think I'll wait for the later versions of this. I mean, there's only around 20 odd games out so far and updating codelists isn't my idea of fun.
(My AR2 for PS2 uses up about 2 mb on my memory card for the updated codes)

Yea... I hope a region-code hack/crack/program becomes available.
I have a Japanese (region 2) PSP... but, I am NOT going to pay $40.00 for a UMD movie.
U.S. (region 1) movies are $10.00 - $20.00.
There are a few movies that I do not have in my DVD collection that I would like to buy in UMD format.
The release date was obviously bogus!!!!! However this is up for sale on the codejunkies website. They've had my money for three weeks now and still NO REAL release date! UGH!!!!
