I would be terrified that I would forget I had my memory card in there and throw these away. I love the novelty but I would probably spray paint it a different color that way I wouldnt think it was trash.

good idea rjsmith! i like this idea. michael has a point. if any of the metal contacts in the memory card will come in contact with the altoids metal case then you may have troubles. you could probably use a listerine pocket mints case if it fits. that would probably be safer. let's keep looking for makeshift holders.
about ideas:
- dude sees altoids sour case. get's idea for umd case
- dude sees altoids strips case. get's idea for memory stick case.
- thedude sees altoids strips case for memory stick. get's idea to use listerine pocket mints case.
truth is probably thousands of people thought of the idea for altoids as a umd case before the geniuses who published it as a story. doesn't mean you are a copy cat or unoriginal or a poser. inventive ideas like this means you are thinking like a "genius" as you say.

i'm using listerine pocket mints case as a memory stick case... it's pretty good. and u can see what MS is in it outside the case. u don't need to open the case and check which MS is in the case. (i have 2 MS)

As we all know, nerds tend to have bad breath. I support the use of Altoid tins as protective cases for nerd gear only if said nerd promises to consume the minty product first. Speaking of nerds... I wonder how many UMDs will fit in a box of Nerds candy.
