MooPS is a mini WEB/DNS server that runs on your Windows PC so you can somewhat easily access local links, rather than using portals, you can now serve up your own pages within your local network. But just like any portal you can browse the web, if setup properly. Think of it this way, when this whole hidden thing was discovered people started to install DNS servers and WEB servers on their local network to play with it, then next public portals started popping up, only one so far allows customizable content. MooPS attempts to give you full control over your PSP browsing experience.
1. MooPS is a DNS server that runs on your PC, it will spoof the ingame.scea.com address to what ever webserver you want.
2. MooPS is a WEB server that runs on your PC, It will serve what ever html content you provide.
MooPS at its current stage isnt meant for people who dont want to create custom content, because right now it only serves up sample html pages. It is left up to you to create html pages for it to serve up.
Yes to the average noob it wont ever make sence. To those that know how networks work and how to code html pages then yes it is a whole lot easier than installing your own web and dns server on your PC, that is if you dont have it already.

Wow, haven't tried it yet but this is what I've been looking for. I really want to customize my own PSP site with my own bookmarks and what not. Great Idea!!

Currently MooPS has no restrictions on the version of Windows (other than winsock v2), but the future feature set will set a minimum OS at Win2000 sp5 or WinXP sp1, though Ive only tested it on WinXP sp2. If you are interested in this software but dont run the mentioned OS feel free to send a PM here at psp411, other contact info can be found in the readme.txt ~~moobar

For some odd reason it wont server external pages for me.
For DNS Server I have my ip in 2x
For DNS Client I have it pointing to my propper DNS, the one my pc uses all the time
For Web Server I have my ip in 2x
That all correct?
My PSP settings are:
ip address : vallid
subnet : valid
default router : my router
primary dns : my pc
secondary dns : my pc
When I connect it sends me the moops page, but when I try to get an external link from that page it brings up the "connect" box again, If i select my spoofed setting it just takes me back to moops page?!?edited: Apr 16 2005

Your setting seem correct, just the way Im doing it also. Take a look at the log it should look something like this if everything is going good.

192.168.10.32 GET //index.html 1.1
192.168.10.32 GET //moops.jpg 1.1

For every external DNS request, MooPS will spit out 4 responses as shown above. The first one shows that the PSP is requesting link. The second shows the DNS request being forwarded to your real DNS server. The third shows it recieved a response from your real DNS server. The fourth shows that it was sent back to your PSP.
Send me the complete log via PM or email and I can take a look at it.

 Own it
It looks like everything is fine, it gets a request, it sends it off, it gets it back, and it return it to your PSP. You could send me your DNS server and I can see what kind of response your getting, in the mean time you could try another DNS server. MooPS makes no changes to DNS requests it forawrds and returns the exact packet. One last thing is that MooPS only supports UDP DNS requests, it does not support TCP DNS requests (packets larger than 512b).

Heh, ok I found the problem on my end, my first BUG! There is nothing you folks can do until I release an update in the morning. Some of you may get lucky, others will get the above mentioned error.

Cheers man. I'd tried to use some of the other public portals but my router seems to force a different DNS (the one hte router has) onto all external traffic.

I installed MooPS and configured it correctly per the readme file. I can log into fugimax's portal and access my page by surfing to it, but when I try to use a PSP connection with the DNS server set to my own, it doesn't work and I get diverted to Wipeout's page.
I run winXP sp2, Serv-U FTP, and have Norton Internet Security 2003 installed. Is one of the mentioned programs or a background service keeping my MooPS from working? Please help me for I am a computer idiot.
Thank you!
