That review is a joke , the guy just didn't understand how to play it, just look at his comments about the gameplay and the gameplay video's they made, he complains the combat is too simple, it's only because he's just running up to robots and holding in square like he says. There's much more to the combat than that, you can have different types of guns, swords, etc. installed into your head, arms, and chest and all 4 areas are controlled by the correlating button (triangle shoots head weapon, x shoots chest weapon...)edited: Apr 29 2005

ok, the guys that work for GameSpot aren't idiots. if he gave it a low rating, there is a reason. quit trying to defend your purchase by discrediting bad reviews for the game. look around, there's more than just ONE bad review for this game.

No, actually I bought the game and have barely been able to put it down, and if you knew me the slightest bit you'd know I'm an animate opponent to heads spreading bad info for some bizarre reason to make themselves feel better or something, I know where you're coming from, but STFU 
I don't care how many bad reviews there are , if they have good reasons for giving it a bad review, fine, there are some aspects of theis game that I could see would turn some people off, but the arguments he makes make no sence, he says the combat is too simple and impossible, which is not the case if you realize there is strategy involved, for example, some of the most deadliest opponents I've faced in this game were easily beaten because they were no good at fighting from a distance and you could easily get away long enough to regain some power.
This game deffinetly is not for everyone and I could understand a bad review of this game, but this review is literally bad and I don't know why you think all the people at gamespot are infailable like a bunch of gamer popes or something.edited: Apr 29 2005

I did not end up getting the game because it got bad reviews EVERYWHERE and i dont know i have really bad ADHD and if a game rewiever got bored with it i am most likley to as well maybe down the road i will pick it up and love it but i think i would rather have smart bomb.

I rented this. Bottom line is there is a FANTASTIC game here, but it is buried under horrible controls (such a waste). A minority of people can get past that and enjoy the game a lot for what it offers (some may even PREFER this control scheme), but if you've ever in the past played a game and said to yourself "I'd enjoy this A LOT MORE if I could use the analog stick to move around", then you'll have the same problem here. Many will call that a lack of patience, but it's a legitimate complaint for the majority of people interested in this type of game. There are a lot of great things about this game, too bad few will find out.
I'll go out on a limb and say if it had good analog support, it would have scored about 2 points higher on most reviews.

I bought this game yesterday 6-8-5 and I have been playing all night. I like it. It is a button mash type game with a little strategy.
