Play wacky multi-player mini-games either by yourself or against others. With simple rules and gameplay, Piposaru Academia, or Ape Academy, is fit for all ages.
I got my copy today. I haven't played much (only up to the third boss character). Each boss consist of 9 mini-games on a tic-tac-toe board (more details later). The game is heavy on japanese text, but can be navigated if your like me (non-japanese). Unfortunately, each mini-game has it's load time, however, during the load, certain buttons are displayed so you get an idea which ones to use. Otherwise the graphics are colorful and a delight to look at.
Okay I have to say this game is highly addictive. I bought this for myself Friday. My wife decided she wanted to try it out. I didn't get the game back until Sunday evening and only because she had fallen asleep. The objective is to win Tic-Tac-Toe to open up the next level. But the only way to win your square is to compete in a mini game. There is a racing game where you have to hit the O button as soon as you hear the gunshot (first picture above). There is an balancing game where you have to use the left and right arrow keys to keep everyone balanced on your head (3rd picture above). There are a couple matching games...or I guess would be better explained as miss matching games. You try to find the unlike item/items. There is a small game where you have zombie monkeys coming for the banana you have cooking on a fire. A game sort of like dance dance revolution where you have to press the correct button on time to keep your other monkey friends from burning up. Even a bowling, soccer, and air hockey game. I haven't even touched the surface of all the different mini games avaliable.
Another update.... Bought a second copy so the wife and I could play against each other. There are only 4 mini games avaliable to play wireless against someone else. You play the game to gamble away little characters that you have opened by playing single player games. Extremly cool concept. When you play against someone and lose then your little character is placed into a container where the opponent can see. Then you take and mix up the containers and hope the opponent doesn't chose the one your character is in. If they do find it then you lose it from your PSP. If they don't find it then you retain it.
I just finished the game last week: the last bonus game is KUNG-FU - an old 80s classic arcade game. - very kool game. I'm still missing lots of the monkey statues.
highly addictive little game - there are often shouts of "Bloody Monkeys" ringing through my house. It would be much better if i had some sort of clue what was going on. and the Question rounds are very difficult when you don't speak or read Japanese
this game came with fewer games than i expected i mean common UMD holds more than CD's yet they produce games that are lower in depth and experience than PS1 games.. i mean yeah the graphics r a lil better but shoot this kind of a game i wanted it to last long but this game lasted like seriously 1 hour to me the same like 30 games or less repeating is quite sad to be on a mini DVD.... this game was depressing for me
To those of u that beat this game can u please tell me how many games there are in total and is there really only this few games? i seriously think this wasent worth my money maybe, something comes up later?? is there more games to be revealed or does the only thing that change is the difficulty?? the ONLY thing i liked on this was 2 player on 1 PSP me and my friend played it it was funny but these repeating 15 games in single player story mode is getting quite boreing WHATS NEXT??? TELL ME plz
