Two years have passed since the events of Final Fantasy VII. Though Midgar-city of mako, city of prosperity has been reduced to ruins, its people slowly but steadily walk the road to reconstruction.
However, a mysterious illness called geostigma torments them.
With no cure in sight, it brings death to the afflicted, one after another, robbing the people of their fledgling hope.
And so Cloud, who walked away from the life of a hero to live in solitude, must step forward yet again.

We don't need another FF game, cause it's completely apparent they'll never be able to match VII; as to why they're putting out 4 different VII spin offs... hopefully to pull a decent margin.
In the game section... i thought i saw a Final Fantasy game. Crisis Core or something like that...
I have a little article on it in one of my gaming magazines, and the stills seem cool.
If this movie come out for rental, i'll give it a try, then choose.
David has a good point, but if they manage to pull this all off and not make it all crap, I will be the happiest man on the face of the planet! I can not wait for this to come out on UMD and DVD, any one know any release dates?
I am pretty sure you will be able to just see it, it might not be as meaning or emotional but it should still be good, I do think you should play at least FFVII, its a really good game. But i dont think its needed to see the movie
I really wish that they would just re-realease FFVII for the psp. No changes addons or anythin are necessary, though they would be nice. I would just love to replay that game where ever I go.
I heard, from a local comic book store guy I know, that the Crisis Core game will bring the FFVII:AC UMDmovie as a bonus ...I think it's a load of BS, from his part. Anyone else heard of this rumor, or even know if it's actual fact? Wouldn't wanna make any false statements...again for those troubled-and-overexcited-people-who-do-not-know-how-to-read...I am NOT stating this, I only heard it from another person's mouth.
HOW ABOUT THAT!!! I recently read that Square announced this film to be only 70% complete as of last week...and still no voice acting in it. That's only for the original japanese release on DVD (not sure about a UMD release, yet) wich is, yes...sept. 14?!?!!! Dammit...this better be good...when some of us have been waiting forever for it.
