The load times aren't too terrible - but they are noticeable. I haven't noticed that it kills my battery any more than RR. My only real complaint is that they didn't redo the artwork to suit the PSP screen -- Instead, there's 'normal' (scrunched 4:3 aspect ratio with selectable backdrop for the side margins) and 'wide' zoom modes. Wide zoom causes some degradation of the graphics. I'm hoping this doesn't become a common 'feature' of 2D games ported to the PSP widescreen display. Control is good, although I did 'lose' two of the four main buttons after a long suspend. Had to restart to get them back.
I guess if your a fan of 2D fighting, this is the game to get. Actually you don't get a choice, it's the only 2D fighter for now. I do enjoy this game, but the load times do bother me a bit (it just could've been a little quicker, with Ridge Racer being about the same). The animation is beautiful though, no doubt. Otherwise plays just like it's previous versions.
I'm an old timer -- I stopped 2D fighting after the original Street Fighter II : ) Things got a little out of hand, pardon the pun, with the crazy amounts of moves to remember. Back to puzzlers and RPG's for me.
Not much to say... I haven't ever played Darkstalkers. But this is just a Street Fighter style game.
Haven't played against anyone else so I couldn't tell you what its like wirelessly.
Darkstalker original came out on the Saturn. I love 2D fighters!!!! How does this 2D fighter hande with its controls being on a handheld. Is it easy to pull off the supers and Combos. Also does it have multipalyer and wireless online. Now if they brought Guilty Gear to the PSP that would be awesome.
This game is the best 2D fighter I've played in a LONG time... pretty much since 2D fighters were still "the thing". The controls are alright, there is an easy mode so the moves are easier to pull off and a normal mode which is a little harder. There is multiplayer as for wireless online I think you can work something out, it is WiFi afterall... There are LOADS of mini-unlockables, I will probably buy the US release so I can actually understand all the mini-stories that are unlocked.
