Had a ton of playing all the Hot Shot Golf series. And this game doesn't disappoint. I do like that they changed the style of opening up accessories and characters. It used to be that you played 18 holes, first person to 4 up or person who is up at the end of the 18 holes would win. Well on this portable version it is 9 holes or first person to 3 up. Which is much easier to accomplish, and just as hard at the same time.
I'm getting this the second it comes out. I mean how could you resist bigheaded anime style golf? I just hope they don't screw up the voice acting in the US version.
This game is better than I expected. It's very addictive and the courses seem to encourage creative solutions. On the other hand, if you plan to play fairly and beat it on your own, you'd better not mind playing the same course hundreds of times. I've been playing for dozens of hours now, and I'm still on the same starter course despite winning tour after tour after tour. Actually, this game is just about due to be tossed on "the pile" because I just don't want to play that same course again. If you've played Phantasy Star Online, you'll know what I'm talking about.
Regardless, it's a pretty fun golf game that anyone can pick up and play, yet the depth is there if you want it. I've heard that there's more than one course, so I won't bash it for that, but like they say, if you're not a hardcore golf otaku, you're either going to download a save for it, or throw it out.
This seems like it might be an OK game, but personally I'd rather play a real golf game like Tiger Woods. I'd just rather unlock real clubs, gloves, shirts, shoes, etc, and play as real golfers. I wouldn't buy it, but I'm sure it's an OK game. But surely it can't be as good as Tiger Woods, right?
