This application enables the user to easily perform image conversions. First select your destination directory (usualy the Photo dir on the PSP memory card). Then Drag and drop entire folders of images (jpeg, gif, bmp, or png) which are then converted into the PSP's native 480 x 272 jpegs.
It is also possible to vary the level of jpeg compression.
PSPhoto even performs an alphabetical sort of a folder and dates the files accordingly so they are ordered correctly in the PSP photo browser.
Very simple. Does exactly what it says on the tin.
Have tried this out with resizing comics. However, i noticed that when viewing images resized by this software, the panning/scrolling of the images up and down seem to be choppy, while images that I have resized normally on my own using other image resizing software seems to be much smoother. I wonder why.... Anyone else experienced this?
That's kind of useless, IMO... If you have an image ata non 16:9 aspect ratio it will get all distorted. Better to do it yourself in Photoshop and try to crop it down to the proper aspect ratio, if you ask me.
I was never too fond of the photo system. I find it odd the system can play insanely elaborate games, but can't cache a whole image to load at once so that it doesn't have to load different sections at a time.
If your image is not 16:9 aspect it WILL NOT get distorted. PSPhoto is smart enough that it converts only to 480 x 272 when the photo is 16:9 aspect ratio. Otherwise, it will only resize UNTIL one dimension is the smallest possible to be viewed fullscreen on PSP (x: 480, y: 272).
or be aware of potential rotation. Honestly that's the biggest interest I'd have. It's tiresome to go through my digital photos and rotate simply for optimum viewing on the psp.
