Hold up, is this an actual battery to replace the psp one or is it like the power brick. If this is an actual new battery this is huge news. I dont like how it replaces the original cover, why does it need ot do that, will their cover match the psp's color and texture?
I have the Madcatz extended battery for my GBA SP, and it was a total replacement. I was completely satisfied with the quality, and it bumped my battery life to infinity (plus or minus a few hours). In all seriousness, I was getting about 20 hours with the backlight on.
Well if the new cover pops out anymore than the current cover than i wouldnt get it, i dont want my psp to be buldging out on one side and fine on the other, i well balanced unit is just as important to me as battery life, and this is a sure sign that more third party developers will be making higher capacity batteries. Another concern i have is price. If this lasts twice as long as the generic sony one which is about 50 dollars, wont it cost more?
That is a good point about the battery size. If it's larger, then it will fail to fit in most cases. That of course would be an extreme problem, unless of course Mad Catz is banking on making a custom case for their custom battery (which I think would fail miserably personally).

read above, it comes with a new battery cover. This is the price you pay for having a bigger battery, the same exact thing happens on mobile phones so why should this be any different?
Because a phone wont become inbalanced with the addition of a larger battery like the psp will, if mad catz didnt take this into account i hope others will.
how though? an extended battery means a bigger battery, which means its got to stick out more, there's really nothing that can be done about it.
if you dont want an extended battery then dont buy one, no-ones forcing you
edit: just tested and the psp is already 'slightly' heavier on the battery side, and the battery weighs very little, you really wont notice any difference in weight on one side, sure it will be 'slightly' bulkier, but even then i still doubt you'd notice, the only thing affected may be the carry cases.
You really think that a battery has to be physically larger than the one thats already there to be more efficient? Come on, honestly, i dont even mean that the weight will be imbalanced, just that i dont want one side buldging out further than the other side, and if ill have to pay a little extra for a battery that fufills that need i will, but i wont buy this if it sticks out anymore than the preasent battery, and at this time it seems to be doing just that.
