Dude... Imagine playing GTA (Socom, or any other game you like) and have the sound coming out of your home theater system (surround sound, even if rendered by the receiver and not true surround).
Movies, games, digital audio, podcasts... All wirelessly played through your home or car speakers...
And yeah, pelican has issues with their products, but this may be a bit better since it just plugs in and broadcasts...
I want to know how it compairs to other products like it, or other products that do the same for the ipod.edited: Jul 10 2006

i admit it would be great since its self powered signal strenght shouldn't be a problem, h3ll the power brick was a great idea to just like the modulator,

I dont see why people are complaining about this... I mean; it basicly gives you a cheap way of making your PSP alot louder than it is, wirelessly. Not to mension the fun you could have if someone has a personal radio. lol, just tune in to their frequency and watch them freak out as their radio messes up.

I don't see how people are ripping on this just because it's from Pelican. A few friends of mine have bought controlers for PS2 and Xbox from Pelican and had no problems with them. I personally bought a travel kit for my old GameBoy Color from Pelican and never had a problem with it.

Just to follow up, Gamestop shipped my psp modulator, it's available now from pre-order and therefore I'll have my impressions of it up here after the weekend.
As a side note anyone claiming Pelican is of poor quality needs to do a little more research and understand the Pelican Co. manufactures a variety of products and although I can't backup the quality of the joysticks, their larger protective cases I would. Their emergency flashlights I used in the military and can be a firefighter's best asset.

here's a quick overview of this device, pros and cons.
pros: fits nicely under the unit securely, lcd turns off after a minute to conserve power, clear audio reception
cons: interferes with the lanyard loop slightly, only works up to about 5 feet away, doesn't work with all games (*)
* I discovered it shuts off audo while playing Burnout Legends after about a minute into actual gameplay and the PSP needs to be reset to get the modulator to function again properly. I contacted Pelican already and requested they bring out a game compatability list in the near future because of this.
Anyone know if the aussy version has this problem?

I actually have this product and i use it and have been using it since the purchase date back in August. Still works perfectly because i like to listen to my music that i have ony my card because my tape player in my car doesn't accept those cassette adaptors for cd players and such that take a 3.5mm jack. So i bought this to see if it works and it works really well. Have it on a radiostation with alot of dead air, plug this into your psp and then set it to the radio station you have on. The sound quality is very great. Pelican does have a history of crappy products but this is not one of them and i am being dead serious.

range on it is pretty weak; you have to be with in five feet of your FM Radio.
I myself i'm a truck driver and playing music and UMD's while at rest areas and truck stops ppl ask what the hell is it; after showing what i got ppl have bought their own PSP and often now get a lot of emails from fellow truckers thanking me

Awesome. I've often wondered how many truckers were using psp's .. seriously..it's like the ideal thing for long nights away from home. Plus.. theres always the wireless fragfests at the midnite truckstops! <hehe> Peace.

I bought this & returned it. It kept on reseting my date & time everytime I plugged it in & sometimes it won't turn on. Plus the reception was bad. I would not recommend this product.
+
does it still play music while you're playing games?
