Release Date: September 01 2006
In Gun Showdown, gamers play the role of Colton White, an orphaned gunslinger on journey of self-discovery. Not that kind of self-discovery. Gun Showdown is a free-roaming, untamed Western action adventure where you will shoot, stab, and dynamite your way through with new wireless multiplayer and quickplay modes, missions, and gameplay features unique to the PSP.
The gameplay features five new story missions that include breaking up a moonshine ring, taking down a rebel gang, robbing a bank and protecting an innocent family from the bad guys. Gun Showdown is gritty and reeks of gun powder. Finally something that will put an end to John Wayne's grave-spinning. Expect it to ride into the sunset and into stores in Q3 2006.

Wild West GTA, thats why

It'd be cool if they'd intergrate the psp into the gunfights in multiplayer. You could use the IR port and 'shoot' eachother from across the room ! <LOL> Ok..but the game does look interesting. You're a good guy & a bad guy? Sounds fun!

Hopefully it doesn't suffer like every other port from a console since we don't have a right analog stick. If they are smart, they will integrate the controls like SOCOM or Syphon Filter. Let's hope they do it right. I almost bought this game for XBOX but decided to hold off and wait for the PSP version.

Well remember Red Dead Revolver on PS2? I'm sure the PSP can handle a game like that. This sounds great as I'm a fan of westerns.
I never played Gun on the PS2. It didnt really look good from the screens I saw, and since I only have limited game time, I nver gave it a chance.
This is supposed to be an expansion of that game? Maybe a fuller story. I dont know. I read an interview with the developers over at gamespot and it didnt really clear much up.
But as the first western game for the PSP, it might be a lot of fun.
Oh... And Chance... You are thinking of Lazer Tag.

Westerns arnt a popular genre, but after watching a bunch of Clint Eastwood moves I kinda feel gitty, and excited about this title!

Beat the PS2 version, I think it should stay as a console game, not a portable game. But I'll have to see some videos first.

Do I have to do everything: link

they have added a lot to the portable game which makes me think about getting it. i have it for pc played it on ps2 and while its fun, its not very lengthy. in a sense it is gta-western where as its free roaming, but you cant compare the amount of content in the two. it was definately fun for what it was, great story, good controls and gameplay, good ol western style, it just didnt last long.
