First formula 1 racer for the psp. Judging from the screenshots there will be racing in a modern setting as well as racing with historical f1 cars.

On one of the screenshots a damaged rear wing is visible. This probably means the cars are able to take damage.

There are two movies available on psp.ign.com

ADD TO WISHLIST I HAVE IT Other PSP Racing Games

1997 is special cos that's the year Jacques Villeneuve won the F1 Championship

The only guy to have won both Indycar and F1 titles and the only other World Champion still driving other than Michael Schumacher.

Erm, I'll shush now. I definitely want this title!

This really sucks! It's very, very arcade ! When you crash it happens nothing, just loose a little speed. F1 franchise shouldn't allow this poor titles to come out with it's name.
I don't have nothing agains arcade games, but in this department you have better choices: RR or even NfS.

Really? I heard it was Arcade-like by default, but you could switch the settings over to be more simulation-based. Pity :/ Will have to try before I buy then.

Kevlarian,
I've owned most F1 games since the first Geoff Crammond grand prix on pc, and having played this for the last few days, i gotta say it's worth it. Didn't like at first how if you crashed too hard it would hold you for 3 secs before resetting your car to the track, but there's no damage model, so that's why they do it. But after a day of playing and getting to know the tracks, it's probably the most enjoyable f1 game i've played...sitting in third place you spin-out one corner from the finsih line, and by the time you get back on track you're back into 7th, it does a great job of the pressure and speed/sensitivity of F1, the twitchy handling takes a lil to get used to, but once you do easy as to keep it straight, and manouver around the track (once you get to know it) with minimal stick movement (personally can't use the d-pad, at the other end of the scale, it's not responsive enough for me lol).

And it's fast, 20 cars on screen at once and it's smooth as silk, seriously, and got most of the racing games on psp, and this is def near the top as far as graphics go, sound is good too. I only run games off my 2GB high speed mem sticks (create an iso out of the umd i buy) because it takes less than a 1/4 of the time to load levels etc, awesome stuff.

EDIT - All that said tho, you still only do 3 laps per race on easy, hopefully it's more on the harder difficultes, because unfortunately the driving is the best part, but oh so short. Definately comes down to personal preference, a try before you buy (if you an drive in it, i'll try to own it lol, love the racing games) but might be worth holding off for the other F1 game coming out (hopefully it'll be more realistic). My bad, there is only the one so far.
