I had lots of fun with the first one...for some time...then it got really boring. i dont think ill be buying this when it comes out. Looks too similar to the original one.
its hard to tell what improvements are made from a couple screens ... features and animation is totally absent from those screenshots.
and as for the 2nd game always being better than the first ... i'm with zero and i'm going to have to disagree ... it comes down to personal preference but two that come to mind would be the Mario and Zelda series.
the first pic all the blocks are angled, not to different but it will add some variety. I played and loved the first one at a friends place, grab this one for myself.
Well the things the first one lacked were a variety of gameplay modes and an online feature. If those are fixed in the second version then I'd say for those who dont have Lumines 1 and wanna find out what its all about splurge the 40 and get this. If those key factors arent fixed get the first one.
I dunno about saving your game, might make it a little easy (kinda like using the 'pause' exploit)
Although, yeah, having to play the game for 90+ minutes just to get on the leaderboard was a tad frustrating.
If this one adds customization (add your own songs, block designs, and backgrounds) then it's a no-brainer purchase. And if they add some type of huge change to the gameplay (I'd still like to see you have the ability to flip the screen, top-to-bottom, during gameplay) then it might also be worth purchase. Still, though, Lumines 1 is the most addicitve game I have ever played. Cheers to the developers for that
