I probably won't get it, not because I already have a PGP...but because the last pelican face armor used the screws and it messed up my UMD door.

Although it seems they improved from their previous model, the idea of a faceguard is still not entirely fleshed out when you can just as well buy a reliable case for your PSP.

Tt's not a stupid idea, in fact it works quite well. I haven't found a case that I'm 100% happy with yet, so I carry my PSP topped off with one of these and a UMD 8 Case for my games. I clipped the sides so I could use it with the charger grips too.

I have the older version. I use it only because it came with the second psp I bought on eBay. It's good. Of course it's true if you screw it in too hard, the UMD door doesn't open right (loosen the screws a little and it's ok). And I cannot use it with my 4800Mah batery. But it seems to work just fine in keeping my screen scratch free and it's a nice blocker from sunlight while playing. I still like the logitech playgear even though it's bulkier personally.

I found the old one to be a complete piece of crap. This one doesn't look much better. I got tired of tightening the right screw because it was always a bit loose to keep the UMD door working properly.
The worst part was that when I went to the PGP and then the Vaja I gave the Pelican Face Armor to my girlfriends son. He had saved up and bought his own PSP with his own money. Unfortuanatly I wan't with him when he bought it so he didn't get a replacement plan. About two days after he started using the face armor he fell on the PSP and broke the screen. Throwing away $250 really sucks when you're an unemployed fifteen year old.
Based on how much tougher it is, I think the PGP would have held up much better that day. Pelican accessories just don't seem to have any quality to them whatsoever.

the logitech playgear pocket is way better. i've dropped my psp, fell on it, ran it over(jk) and its still ok...plus you dont have to worry about any screws messing up your umd drive..

I got the standard one with the psp when I bought it on the launch day. I went through three because the hinges kept breaking (the shop replaced them each time) before upgrading to the pgp. It is so much better than anything else
