Flight sim fans rejoice, Namco is bringing one of its extremely popular titles to the PSP! Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception is the latest installment to the Ace Combat series from Namco. Sporting an all original story line, detailed jet models, many "real world" jets and the options to tune them all, it is shaping up to be everything you would expect from Namco. So far, Famitsu has confirmed 4 popular jet models and those are the F-14D Super Tomcat, Tornado F3, F2-A and MIG-31 Foxhound.
The games modes are also getting plenty of attention. Campaign mode will put you in the pilot seat as a member of the Gryphus Squadron of the Federal Republic of Aurelia where the game will make use of the strategic AI system and missions will change depending on the strategies that you use.
Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception will feature a 4 player multiplayer mode via ad-hoc that will allow you to split into teams for co-op play. Having already been given a fall release schedule in Japan, there is not yet an announced release time for the US.
Well I played some really great flight simulator PC games years and years ago... If the technology was there to make it fun then... why cant they get one out on the PSP stated for a real US launch with infrastructure...
Imagine being able to say "I'm Top Gun"...
It looks good, for a gaming simulation... I think I could have a lot of fun... Maybe this will support tunneling.
FINALLY! Been hoping that they would release an ACE Combat edition for the PSP!!!
I wouldn't call this a flight Sim type game- it is however a great flying/shooting game--awesome missions and Dogfights!!!! (at least it is on the PS2) I'm sure the graphics will be great- i think NAMCO have proven their graphics prowess on the PSP with RidgeRacer (let alone it was one of the premier games for the PSP's launch)
Well, I wouldn't really say that the ACE COMBAT series would be considered flight sims ... however they are KILLER action games. This will be a must have especially with Namco behind the wheel. The Ace series has proven to be a franchise on both the PS1 and 2 and I am sure it will be one on the PSP as well!! This will be good indeed!
ive never been very impressed with flight sim's cities, as theyre often just flat with only the larger buidings being the right size. and by judging by these picture the case is the very same. too bad
