Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest is based on the sequel to the hit movie by Buena Vista. The game features Captain Jack Sparrow, WillTurner and Elizabeth Swann in 10 stages as the characters search for the Dead Man's Chest, the only thing that can set Sparrow free from Mr Davy Jones.
There is ad Hoc multiplayer with up to four players, ship vs ship mini game featuring ten maps, customizable ships and loads more.
The graphics DO look sweet! It just seems like they NEVER make good games based on movies..or MOVIES based on games. <Except for Resident Evil> I'll be interested to see someeone else spend money on this and review it!
these type of games are ok to rent but they are usually very short and have zero replay value. Guess we will have to see how it goes. At least the movie looks good.
Alright I will just say it now so nobody flipps out about it later. The release date said Quarter 3 2006. So August 1st probably isnt the release date, but it is close.
yeah, games to movies and movies to games hasnt been the most successful of franchises, but lets just wait til the game comes out to tear it a new one lol. why judge something we know almost nothing about? i dont have the highest hopes for this game, in fact i probably wont end up buying or even renting this game at all, but i sure as hell hope that it will be good before i assume it will be bad. IMO
this is for Chance, Since when is Resident Evil movies good ? GOD ! they are an insult to the game ! period !
anyways just had to get that off my chest, the screen shots of POTC2 look good, hope the gameplay is on par. doubt it though.
there have been some very successful games that have transferred from movie to game.
Lord of the Rings games have been very good (especially the RTS games on PC), many of the Star Wars games have been good, Die Hard trilogy on PS2 was good (especially the virtua cop style parts), the Harry Potter games have been decent, theres probably lots more, so I wouldnt say they are all failures
Actually..when I said good.. I was refering to the MOVIE being good. The game...isn't.. The game came first..and I was talking about movies based on games..
