4GB is a good amount of storage... And realistically it isnt really that expensive (it's all relative)...
This is nice for the audiophile or videophile, but not for the gamer. I want Sony to start pushing Demo's we can download and play. I want my memory card filled with that.
Either way, it's nice to have made it to the next level in Memory Stick capacity.

So is it still true this is the max for the PSP or will they be able to figure a way to advance past 4 GB Pete ?

From what I understand it is the current limit due to the flavor of FAT the PSP uses.
But that's not to say Sony cant do something crazy with a firmware that will trick it into using more than 4GB. I cant say for sure.

Ooohhh, Aaaahhhh - now if it wasn't so expensive i'd kick my 1Gig and get this tasty piece of storage!
Seeing that i got my Gig for 32 Euros, 170 Dollars is still a little to much for my wallet.edited: Jun 29 2006

True... We know the next size will be 8GB, but we also know that the PSP has a limit of being able to use 4GB. This may be due to it's version of FAT.

I wouldn't be surprised to see something like 'double Pro Duo' Memory Sticks with two 4GB partitions or some such thing. Basically capable of storing 8GB, but probably not allowing actual files of greater than 4GB.

just a thought on the price of these things.......if you look at places like sonystyle there still advertising the 2gig for almost 200$, got mine new in sealed package from ebay for under 60$ might be a good way to find the 4 gig also for those interested in that.
