Turn based strategy game - don'e be expecting Snake Eater. Loads of Kanji. Somewhat playable though. I have a basic understanding of Hiragana so this helps a *little*, but the deck editor is a nightmare. GFX are good and the soundtrack is OK. Only import from Japan if you're used to working out what your objectives are on your own. Sound like fun? If so, this is for you.
It's not *entirely* card based, as such. You get the option of bringing things into play by choosing the relevent card (ie items, tactics, etc). It's a strange style at first, but it works quite well when you get used to it - and understand when each card is called for. But as I said above, potential importers shouldn't be expecting a regular MGS game as this is turn based with action points to spend.
i already have to pleasure of owning this game and what a little beauty it is. the only problem is that the story is all in japanese. so i suppuse that it is luck that i have a translation of the story line as well as a complete walkthrough and a copy of help for the cards and there uses. anybody whats a copy and i can forward you an email.

I have the American Version of this game, It is my Favorite game. I really enjoy card games and am a huge fan of the metal gear games, so this is my perfect game. Once you learn how to play and get over getting used to X being cancel and O being confirm (I prematurly ended many turns this way) but besides that I love this game!
I can NOT get with card/turn-based games. RPG's are abhorent to my style of gaming. I want total control and immediate interaction with the game. Select a card and watching things unfold just doesn't appeal to me...
Just reached the rop bridge after the Ebro Tower, and have been told to get the PSG-1 from the Armory. However, I realise I do not have Card Lvl. 2, only Card Lvl. 1. Does anyone know how this card comes about? Someone suggested it came from a cutscene with Teliko, but I do not recall any, else I should have it in my deck. Help
