In spite of having to wait even longer than North Americans for their PSP, South Korean users will get a web browser included with their PSP when it launches there on May 2. Could this also mean that the rest of the world will get the same web browser in a firmware update on May 2?
Cnews said: "Users will be able to surf the Internet from wireless access points and view unique content geared toward the device, said KT spokeswoman Nam Yoon-soo."
Some users have already figured out a way to get the PSP to browse webpages.
Cnews by way of Kotaku reports that

Will this cost money? 4 the web browser

hey if the s. koreans get it for free, so should we!

this would be really cool to see the features of the browser. hope they release it soon after in a firmware update for everyone else, do you hear me sony?
+
the whole world will get the browser at the same time just like the 1.5 update. I just wish we didnt have to wait for the PSP release in SO KO to get it. May 2nd is going to take forever to get here.

The first one hundred thousand units sold of the Korean PSP Value Packwill come with a Network Utility UMD and limited-time membership for wireless Internet service, in addition to a UMD movie of Spiderman 2.
By tapping the Network Utility UMD functionality, gamers in Korea will be able to enjoy a number of other online services in addition to games, including web browsing, an online movie player, and an online music player.
They have to pay a monthly fee aroud 5 dollar for it for a internet hotspot connection { source gamespot}

LOL,bang rocks

I wonder how that would work out here.
+
After reading the article from gamespot I'm not sure how it would work here being that most hotspots are free. But then I could be wrong, being that I dont have a laptop ^^;. Anyways it would be nice to have on-demand stuff but then one has to remember, the last time I checked, South Korea leads the world in broadband use. They simply have more of it hooked into more places then we do so no wonder Sony is releasing the PSP with these features for them.
