IGN said: "We first reported on Ghosts 'n Goblins when Capcom introduced it at TGS 2005, when it was actually titled Extreme Ghouls and Ghosts. But Capcom finally let us play for an extended period of time at its recent press event in Las Vegas. During our time we learned a bunch of new details, most of which will please fans of the series. Some hardcore fans, though, may find it a little distressing.
We're of course referring to the game's level of difficulty. Every game in the series is notoriously hard, and that's something Capcom decided to change with this installment. Now, before certain readers start writing hate mail, just know that the first PSP title in the series is by no means easy. In fact, it's damn harder than most games on the system. Still, there are a few new additions that make it considerably less frustrating than previous efforts.
To start, developers have implemented all-new checkpoint and save systems. Players can manually save their game, for instance, and dying doesn't mean King Arthur (the game's hero) gets hurled back to the beginning of the stage. Instead, whenever we died, we simply materialized exactly where we perished. How's that for convenience? So, in this regard, the games is less frustrating, but spend two minutes with it and it's apparent the game still packs serious challenge.
Visually, the game looks good, real good. It's a cool blend of 2D and 3D, so it retains much of the original game's character without looking old. In fact, we'd even go so far as to say some of the polygonal enemies, effects and environmental detail look downright awesome. The music and sound effects have also been retooled and the effect, so much as we can tell, is very impressive. The music, one of the series' biggest highlights, sounds as good as ever - a nice mix of creepy, whimsical tunes.
We've already discussed Arthur's new abilities, but here's a quick recap: there's a new dash option, triggered by double-tapping left or right on the D-Pad. He can also fire lances and swords at foes above and below him. Perhaps the biggest difference in control, however, is Arthur's ability to hang off ledges. Now, this is an ability that many gamers would have killed for back in the day, so it's nice to see it included here. "

Yeah Motio I agree, I remember the original in the arcades and on the NES whooping my @$$...but this sounds better since you can save anywhere and you start after dying right where you left off. Thats a BIG help for sure.
