Oh EA. If you didn't suck so bad you wouldn't keep getting in these situations. It seems as if the PSP version of Madden '06 is causing some people to have random crashes with their PSPs. While this would just be annoying with other games with Madden if you crash you can lose your stats in franchise mode. Not fun.

The response from the online community hasn't exactly been kind. EA isn't being very helpful in their forums apparently and they've only posted notice of a "work around" that apparently doesn't do much to help the situation. We haven't heard anything about a patch, or a recall, or refunds, or trying to make it right. EA's response seems to be "deal with it."

I know PC gamers are used to this, but not console gamers, and certainly not portable gamers. Considering Madden '06 was supposed to be a high profile game for the PSP at a time when Sony can't seem to be bothered with releasing games, this isn't good press for EA or Sony's troubled system. I guess we still have overpriced movies though, right?

If I were Sony I'd be putting the screws to EA to make this right and do it NOW. EA just settled their overtime lawsuit and are getting heat for buying the NFL license for the next ten years, and now they're opening themselves up to more bad press by pissing off their fan base."

Well, just return the game. Some stiff at Gamespot(store) told me "EA is taking care of everyone" by allowing returns, can anyone confirm this or was the guy blowing hot-air?

Snoopyisgod it is good to hear your words. It is becoming increseingly difficult to avoid supporting EA as they keep snatching up such good titles (Burnout, Battlefield) or forcing you into their fold (Madden's exclusive right to NFL games) but we really MUST because as long as we accept their stranglehold on the market they can continue to push poorly tested games, doing us and the people who actually make the games a huge dis-service

Vlad: It's a shame that I felt I had to say all that but that is exactly why I left the company... I mean... I used to get free games every month/play and support games for a living and was envied by everyone for working at the biggest games company in the world! Regarding anyone who is experiencing these hardware resets listen close: If a game resets a console, this is a Cat 1 failure and contravenes the minimum required testing procedure with the hardware manufacturer (Sony in this case) - there is a long list of these required QA passes (required by the console manufacturer) and include such issues as hard/soft resets of the console (which are a massive NO NO!), and even stupid things like the type of messages the game displays when performing standard operations such as accessing the memory card. Call tech support and first ask if there is going to be a SILENT realease or a product recall, if not ask for a full refund or exchange for another title.

Thats really interesting Snoopy, thanks for sharing that. I work next to EA games in Orlando and two things I've noticed:
1. the people who work there seem cool and way laid back, however, they keep to themselves and are almost impossible to strike up a conversation with. And Im not just saying me, people at my company talk about how un-social those people are all the time. Now I know Tiberon is in Orlando so they may be different folks but thats just an observation I've had.
2. The QA people they hire for $8 an hour work insane hours so they can pump these games out as soon as possible. I guess you get what you pay for because I've started to see plenty of problems with EA games as of late. Although Burnout to me has very few flaws, I guess that segment of EA still seems to have their Sh*t together.
