JPN 2.0 Firmware works on US PSP

The 2.0 Firmware update released recently has been tested to work on US PSP's. This means you don't have to wait for a browser and wallpapers. Download the Firmware Update directly from Sony Japan.
Download the Firmware Update directly from Sony Japan.
Put the EBOOT.PSP file in this directory on your PSP:
memory stick drive:PSPGAMEUPDATE
Go to your [Memory Stick] under [Game] on the PSP menu and click the Firmware update, then follow the instructions.
Here is the full feature list straight from the update file:
Revisions to strengthen security were added.
UMD Music can now be played under [Music]
An Internet browser was added
Go To was added as a feature under [Video]. (This applies to UMD Video.)
A-B Repeat was added as a feature under [Video]. (This applies to UMD Video and video data saved on Memory Stick.
4:3 Screen Mode was added as a feature under [Video] (This applies to video data saved on Memory Stick.)
Audio Options was added as a feature under [Video]. (This applies to video data saved on Memory Stick.)
AVC was added as a codec that can be played under [Video]. (This applies to video data saved on Memory Stick.)
Support for Memory Stick PRO Duo was added to [Music].
MP4 (AAC) and WAV (LPCM) were added as formats that can be played under [Music]. (This applies to music data saved on Memory Stick.)
Image transfer was added as a feature under [Photo].
Wallpaper was added as a feature under [Photo].
TIFF, PNG, GIF and BMP were added as image formats that can be displayed under [Photo].
Korean was added as an option to [System Language] under [Settings], [System Settings].
[Character Set] was added to [System Settings] under [Settings].
[Theme Settings] was added under [Settings].
WPA-PSK (TKIP) was added as a security method under [Network Settings].
Settings for Infrastructure Mode under [Network Settings] were revised to be easier to use.
Input modes were added to the on-screen keyboard.

Many posts are being ignored about the error when installing 2.0. The error is "The game could not be started (80020148). I am also having this error and would like your guys help. There are many of us in 2.0 agony!

Its right after you go to the memory stick menu and hit x to run the update. It does the psp cinematic, and then pops up with that error. Thanks 4 the reply cybonix.

nvm, battery just wasnt fully charged even though it said it was. Anyone with my previous problem, just wait extra long for the battery to charge.

Hollow, are you up and running now with the update? Hey I just a note to everyone. I just found out that all stand alone T-Mobile stores have free hot spots.

After updating my US PSP with the JPN upgrade, will I be able to play US games coming out in the future? Also, will there ever be a keyboard out for the PSP?
For all of you worried about voiding your warranty, couldn't you just reformat the memory card and restore your PSP to factory settings?edited: Jul 31 2005

Since when has the PSP been region coded??? The Frys down here sells Japanese PSP games and I don't think they would unless the US PSPs could play them. Plus I thought I remember hearing that Sony decided to not Region Code the PSP.

Hey I am getting an internet error message , Even thogh it's peaking up a ginal of 100% , It says it cannot connect to server , Have they cancel our entry by remote??

Can someone help!!!!!!!! , Looks like this is the first of the problems ,First my PSP will not detect the server , I enjoyed 2 great days of wireless internet , But now it id giving me a DNS error has occurre message (80410410) , I have reformat twice and also restored the default settings , Nothing will work , Even worst !! , i am not able to no any connections to the network update?? , HAS ANYONE PLEASE HAD ANY PROBLEMS LIKE THIS, hAVE THEY CUT OFF OUR LINK ?? or what happened everthing seemed to be working fine , I still have 2.0 version but the connections will not work , Who will be next??? , Please let me know if you've had the same problem , INNNNNNNNNNN AGONY!!!!!!!!!!!
