SWEET!!! I'm in love.... can't surf the web because I don't have wi fi at work. (hmm... now if only I can figure out how to connect the ethernet cord from my computer to the PSP.. ) ) WickedP you shouldnt have any problems. Just make sure you put the file in PSP > GAMES > "UPDATE"

Nothing refers to it as a Japanese version. And let me also add that if you wrre specifically not supposed to do this, would it give you English instructions on installation? It seems to work perfectly and not a single existing setting was affected.

Now. Has anyone found a single website that formats at all?

Then the only thing I can think of that might be different is where users connect when you run "Network Update" from the Settings menu...I'm betting Sony has Regoinal servers to manage the network latency.

I'm a little hesitant to install this on my US PSP because of the wireless channel discrepancy between the US and Japan. If anyone's already done it, please tell us if this is a valid reason not to install it.

For those that don't know, here's a brief description of what I mean:
802.11b and 802.11g divide the 2.4Ghz band into 14 overlapping channels of 22MHz each. Channels 1, 6, 11, & 14 don't overlap as much as other channels, and so are safe channels to try to avoid interference. In the US and Canada, channels 1-11 can be legally used. In Europe (not Spain), channels 1-13 can be used. Japan, depending on the hardware used, can use either 10,11, & 14 or 1-13. Channels 10 & 11 are the only two channels that can be used anywhere in the world.

If the legal channel list is built into the wireless hardware in the PSP, this won't be a problem, if it's in software, you could find yourself either unable to connect to your access point, or violating FCC regulations. *GASP*

If any of this is incorrect in any way, please feel free to correct me.

Well, it just connected to my access point without a problem...guess it will be up to the FCC to let me know if I'm violeting a reg.
