GH said: "Sony has announced that they are developing software that will allow television broadcasts to play on laptop computers and more importantly for gamers the upcoming Sony PSP handheld.

The software will allow you to complete a task called "place-shifting," which is the ability to access content stored from remote locations through high-speed web links.

According to chief operating officer Ken Kutaragi, the Playstation Portable will include the same features and thus turn the PSP into a portable television receiver. Sony has not specified how much the software will cost or when it'll be out, but they did state it will initially be available in North America."

Yeah, there is something called the slingbox that is currently available tha basically just watch your home tv setup from anywhere there is a broadband connection. So you can be across the country or world and watch your tivo at home. It just streams it to your PSP. Calling it a "PSP TV" is pretty misleading.
