gtapsp.com said: "Rockstar has finally shown GTA: Liberty City Stories to a select group of people from Official PlayStation 2 Magazine, with the first preview appearing in the UK edition. The magazine, which goes on sale in newsagents on June 16th, has a ten-page preview of LCS, which reveals many bits of information about the game and has the first screenshots.

The game will be set in 1998, with the lead character being Toni Cipriani (voiced by Michael Madsen, who has also appeared in Driv3r and the Kill Bill movies). The full 3D viewpoint is finally given some substance by the screenshots. The game looks very similar to GTAIII and uses some of the original map from that game. Players will see the familiar three-island layout return, with Portland, Staunton Island and Shoreside Vale all being included. It is not yet clear if there will be any further areas to explore.

Motorbikes are confirmed for the game. Screenshots show both the PCJ and the Freeway. However, an interview segment of the article states that there will be no airborne transport in the game - probably because GTAIII's map didn't feature collision models for the roofs of the buildings. Other vehicles which appear in the screenshots are a police car, police Enforcer, Esperanto, Moonbeam, Stallion, Taxi and Bobcat. The article also states that the Patriot and Sentinel will be included.

As far as weapons are concerned, the game stays true to the mafia-esque setting with screenshots showing a shotgun and sniper rifle, and the text of the article mentions Uzis aswell.

The interviewee also mentions that the game is focused on single player action only. We might get some minigames like in San Andreas but full blown multiplayer is not planned."
