Sony released a new firmware update today for all US PSPs. This update requires 14 MB to be free on your Memorystick. You can go to Network Update in your Settings to download the update on your PSP through a Wi-Fi connection. Alternatively, you can download the update onto computer via the link, then copy onto the PSP's Memorystick.
14 mb for security changes forget that just gonna make it harder for us to get emulators im sticking with 1.5 unless they release something useful to me.
even if someone writes code for 1.5 and it doesn't work on 1.51 the update is on the memory stick, if you remove the memory stick then it's not going to have the update anymore. and since it's on the memory stick you can always just delete it off. i say go for the update just for S & G's and you can always fix it later if need be.
The update is on the memory stick... but thats only so you can "install" it. Once you run it, it flashes your firmware and the change will persist after you remove the memory stick (unlike the downloads for WipeoutPure, its actually a firmware update).
does this update have anything useful I have it but waiting to install I would rather have emulators than stupid sercurity improvements somebody post what else this update does
It's a security update. However, it will be required, eventually, from what I've heard on the PSU forums. They'll probably bundle furture security updates with the games themselves; it's for security.
i wonder what needs to be so secure about a psp? heaven forbid someone hack my mp3s!!!!
maybe they'll update the WEP to the other type of encryption that everyone was raving about. (can't think of the term)
Or maybe one of the head executives had some naughty pictures and someone checked them out wirelessly. lol
