Still pretty much wild speculation, but a 'dummy updater' found on a playstation.org URL is fuelling rumors of upcoming features for the PSP. This brings back those images of interesting accessories for the PSP that were available on the net many months ago. Also, word of TV capabilities are sprouting thanks to comments by CEO Ken Kutaragi.
This Video Link shows the updater being tried out on a PSP.
*Rumored features are*
* Voice text reading
* SonicStage music/news transfer (to actually let you upload/"check in" ATRAC3 files)
* Calculator
* Voice chat
* Three PSP internal games
* PSP mail software
* PSP word processor/spreadsheet software
* PSP web browser
* PSP scheduling software
* Bugfixes
Aside from a variety of more practical accessories, last year's E3 conference showcased a USB keyboard and camera. While no further news of these devices has surfaced since, one is left to wonder whether, or how long until, we see a browser and keyboard released for the PSP.
Gaming Horizons and other sites are reporting on comments made by CEO Ken Kutaragi for plans to release software with the ability to broadcast TV to laptops AND to the PSP. The system sounds something like Sony's Location Free TV where a compressed stream of the TV signal is sent to a wifi enabled device through WiFi. You have to pay to play, though. Good news for North America: they're getting it first for once!

I wonder , Podcasting for PSP .... The web browser sounds really interesting. Imagine if you could run Flash on PSP? That would be the door to let indie game developers create PSP games!

Actually, it's most useful feature would be to login at wireless hotspots.
Most of the local ones require you to pay $1.95 an hour, and redirect any website to the hotspot's local login webserver (After all, it DOES control the DNS)
But, there was a blurb in the updater that mentioned macromedia, so flash isn't out of the question.

Of course it'll be free, if it ever comes out.
