Amazon UK have revised their release date once again, to 30 september, and have also applied this date to all their games. Their previous August date was not as precise, so this may be a final date.

this is a dumb move by sony...

lol sony is making a big mistake, i think by 30th september, most of UK will own imported PSPs and games from Japan and the US, this will decrease their selling for the UK releases

I agree with Mooshy. I think that they should have released them world wide all at once. I'm pretty sure that's why they still had PSP's left over after the first day of it going on sale in the US. There were a lot of people that imported them from Japan. I imported one from Japan because I couldn't wait for US release. I did however buy a US unit once they were released here so I could play movies. I'm sure that everyone in the UK that wants one has already bought one from either Japan or the US.

yourpsp.com via IGN.com says UK release date is now set at September 1, 2005.

How is it a dumb move for Sony if people import them from the US before the release? It seems like a brilliant move. Either way, they sell a PSP and then when they release the localized version, its possible some people will buy a second one (as Whetzel apparently did) to play the localized content.
Sure, it sucks if you're a consumer, but its definetly good for Sony. I imagine they'll manage to sell every PSP they make this year, and thats how you make money (running your manufacturing at 100% capacity). What's the point of building a brand image in the US and then diverting the supply to the UK once everyone wants a PSP?
No, staggering the releases is bloody brilliant, even if it does suck for the people living in the UK.

" its possible some people will buy a second one (as Whetzel apparently did) to play the localized content. "
Not if you import smartly. The japanese PSP is the same region code as the UK, so there's no content problems.
*Looks forward to 4 more months of lording it over everyone else*

they stagger the releases to cope with demand, otherwise all regions would struggle to have PSP's available, its perfectly normal and will always happen.

I don't mind, will be cheaper to import it with the strong pound that getting it over here.
I've had a jap one since Jan and will not be getting a UK on ewhen they come out.
