d00d, slipknot suck. If you like their general style there are pleeeeeeeenty of people who do a better job and abandon such a poor image in the process. Check out bands like In Flames or Dimmu Borgir (get "progenies of the great apocalypse" )... Stuff like that is pretty interesting if your feeling in the mood for metal.
edit: on another note, if people enjoy HIM, you might find Kamelot's "The Black Halo" an interesting album... I think the singer is much better.

Also an upside down star is not satanistic, its the Pagan symbol for female divinity, dunno if I spelled it correctly, its you close minded conservative dimwits that screw everything up. Get over yourself.

And to the person who asked "what do i mean slipknot suck" i dont' know how much clearer i can possibly make this, i'll make a synonymous phrase:
Slipknot are musically inept, their mastery of their style leaves much to be desired and there are many bands out there who do a far superior job of presenting interesting and listenable music.
As to the demonic claims i don't care, i don't like this band. The pentagram is a symbol of various things though, its referred to as the baphomet sigil, which is a satanic logo... But it was also a symbol used by the Knights Templar to indicate the five important qualities for a knight (those guys were Christians by the way)... You've also got the 4 elements plus "spirit" or some crap, you've also got the female divinity thing (already mentioned) which is pagan/wiccan, its a symbol of general spirituality or magic, its a symbol of a whole stack of crap. Don't base your assumption on one thing.
That being said, HIM does indeed stand for "his infernal majesty" and i'm prepared to agree that the whole satanic sentiments are there and only really appeal to small minded individuals with no positive/altruistic notions. If they *actually* believed in the purportedly "proper" satanic doctrines which discuss the notion that one is their own God or higher being then they'd look to something like Solipsism as an answer to all their important life questions, not the devil, who by all conventional standards, really lost out :P satanists are worshipping the person who is supposed to have lost the battle.... Really makes sense.
BTW i'm not interested in solipsism or satanism. Religion and philosophy just interest me. I am religious but thats my business

edit: Its just freaking music people and all you rockers out there should be focusing on sticking together, go bash some rap music or something.
