a scratchboard is a piece of masonite with a thick layer of white gesso. The gesso is then covered in black ink, then you proceed to scratch the surface to make the white show up with various sharp tools. Clayboard also sells preblackened scratchboards so you don't have to make them yourself. Nice job. it kinda looks like scratchboard if it wasn't for that slightly blurred look. I like it tho.
