Here are some tips I personally find really usefull while playing the game:
• Using the 8 classic ships you get at the beginning will be much easier beating time trial. I used zone ship, and got all 3 laps perfect and got through all speed pads. I did the same with several ships from the classic 8 on the same track and my time was bested for 2-4 seconds.
• Don't use your boost when going over a speed pad, because at the moment you do, it will stop increasing your speed.
• I know it might sound stupid, but it's better if you don't use the instant boost at the beginning (pressing X as soon as the race starts), because all the other ships are going to have extra speed, and will be harder to catch up. Use it only in time trial.
• Use your autopilot only when aproaching curves in which the rest of the ships normally crash.
• When being in 1st position and having 1 or more laps to go its always good to save a pair of rockets, missiles or quake, in case someone catches up in the last second.

Also, when you get to a jump, rapidly hit Left Right Left on the D pad to put you into a barrel roll boost that springs you into top speed when you land.

and don't use the autopilot when you know that itll stop in the middle of manouvering a hard bend or a close one because once the autopilot stops, it will throw you off course and u'll probably crash into the wall. (fun fact: sometimes the autopilot crashes  )

Wipeout pure is amazing, but i was just wondering, which controls do u guys use/ most effective. the left and right air brakes or left is 'sidestep' and right is airbrake?

I have downloaded the packs of the wipeout site. How do I select them on my PSP? They don't appear in the list at present.

i have a love/hate relationship with this game... it's pretty and awesome, but it's too fast for me after vector.

How do I get the zone ship? i got gold on the first two tracks and silver on the third
