This is a guide on how to put your saved music files on your PC, or your own CD's and placing them onto your PSP. For my own personal needs I use the Music Match JukeBox and the Windows Media Player. I have just recently tried to use other programs such as ATRAC3 and ATRAC3 Plus, but the other two progams are much faster and I can hold more music with them.

Requirements

Music Match Jukebox
• Windows Midia Player
• USB cable

Music Match Jukebox

First download whatever music you want to save to your PSP. You can use CD's, MP3's , or if you already have your music saved to your computer that's even better. If your music is already on your computer and it's in MP3 format you can skip this section and go down to the Window's Media Player section. If your music is on your PC, but not in MP3 format then keep reading.

Now before we begin if you don't have MMJukebox then goto the website listed above. At the home page there is option to get the 'Jukebox now'. After you choose that option it asks if you want to get Jukebox 10. It's only 19.95 but if you want it for free there is an option to get the regular one on that page. The regular Jukebox works, but 10 is so much faster. Instead of waiting 10 minutes to download and convert, it's now done in about 5. Open your Music Match Jukebox and follow these steps:

• Go up to the options menu and in the Converter field choose the MP3 format.

• Go back to the options menu and now choose the Quality and the size that you want your music to be. I choose Radio 64kkps. It's not as good as CD quality, but unless you're listening to your music through headphones, or just want everyone who's sitting about 40 feet away from you to here the music, you won't miss the difference.

• Place your music CD into your computer and select record from CD, music device, etc. The playlist will come up and you can uncheck any of the songs you don't want to download. If you're connected online when you do this, all the cd's and artist informaiton will come up and ask you to choose which ablum you just inserted. Choose the first correct choice. In the end you will get a special reward for doing this. Now select copy music.

If your music is already on your computer, but not in MP3 format, you can go to file and choose the converter option. 2 boxes will pop up and you will be able to choose what kind of music files you want to convert and what format you want to convert them to.

• Once your music is downloaded into your Jukebox libary you can choose the option of downloanding your music to your PSP. I choose to go the next step with the Windows Media Player for faster results and more options.

Windows Media Player

• Open Windows Media Player and go to the 'Copy to CD or Device' option.
• Once there you can click on the down arrow at the top of the first column and choose what music files you want to copy. If you don't see the music you just donwloaded, go to File at the top of the page and click Ppen. You can find your music files in the music folder on the desktop.
• After choosing the music you want to copy. plug in your PSP through the USB connection. In the settings column on your PSP, go up to 'USB connection' and hit the X button. You will hear a ding sound to let you know your connected.
• This is where some cool stuff comes in. You choose the appropriate Memory Stick drive (ie, E for copying to the PSP from Media Player. Once your PSP comes up hit the plus symbol next to the words PSP. A menu will drop down with the choices of Game, Music, Photo or Saved Data.

Click the + next to Music to open it up. Highlight Music and near the top right corner of Media Player you will see a folder button between an I on a page and an X. If you hit that folder, a bubble will pop up asking you to name it. Give it any name you want. This will be your special folder for whatever music you want to put into it. I have 5 folders on mine. 2Pac, Jimi Hendrix, Metallica, Citizen Cope, Audio Slave, and I almost forgot I just added a folder for Linkin Park. Click on the + next to the file you just created and hit the Copy button at the top of Media Player. This will copy all of chosen music to that specific folder. You can do this for how many ever folders you want.

With choosing the first correct album name back when I first downloaded my music on Jukebox, I now have the CD artwork in the box next to the track name instead of a number.

I use this method the most to put music on my PSP. I have a 256mb memory card and I have 105 songs and 5 different game saves on it. I even have 5.13mb worth of space left on my card. If you're wanting to try this guide to copy music to your PSP and experience any problems with it, you can PM me and I will be glad to assist you.

To add music & videos you need a memory stick. The larger the better. I started with a 1 gig..and now own a 4 gig. You connect your psp to your computer using a USB cable..and then select 'connect via USB' in the menus. That will make it show up on your computer as an external drive. Then you copy files to the correct folders. There are several MUCH more complete walkthrough's available in the forums. Do some searching ..you'll find them.

Peace.
