Flash Save Plug-in - Free
Magic SWF2AVI - $25.95
PSP video 9 - Free
1 - Install the above programs as they are listed. Once installed continue to step two. Note: Flash Saving plug-in will install a button on the toolbar in IE.
2 - Go to your favorite flash site (atomfilms.com, homestarrunner.com, etc). Click on the Flash you would like to save to your PC. Let it load up and start playing. Once it's playing, click on the icon on the toolbar. For more details on how to save flash movies please refer to link which has a straightforward explanation.
3 - Once you have the flash movie saved on your PC the next step is to convert it to a format that can be accepted by PSPvideo9, 3gp converter, etc. For this we will use Magic SWF2AVI. It’s the cheapest app that I have found and it works. The only gripe I have is that it’s too slow.
4 - After you have installed Magic SWF2AVI, open it up and click the options button. Select your compression settings if applicable, and then click the directory tab. Here you will select where you want to save your finished AVIs. Then click 'add files' and locate the .swf file you wish to convert. Click convert to AVI and go entertain yourself elsewhere until the conversion completes. Depending on the size of your .swf file the conversion time will vary. While I have been successful in converting my flash movies I haven’t had time to survey the time it takes to convert different sized files. This you will have to determine for yourself.
5 - Now we need yet again convert it into a format the PSP can accept. Once the file is fully converted from flash to AVI, load it into PSPvideo9 with the proper profile settings. See the PSPvideo9’s help and forum section on how to properly set up your profiles for encoding different aspect ratios (which as far as I can tell is the only factor you will need to consider when deciding on a profile). For the most part you can use the pre-loaded –Anime (0-2hr)- profile, which is preset for 16x9 content. You can change this by tweaking the profiles. See the PSPvideo9’s forums or help guide for details on how to do that.
6 - Now that you have saved, converted to AVI and then converted to MP4, it is time to upload the MP4 file to your PSP. PSPvideo9 has a built in media manger so you can use this method or you can use Windows Explorer.
7 - Finally the last and most important step -- ENJOY!!
Magic SWF2AVI is a nice program that gets the job done. There are other apps out there that do the same thing but are 2-3 times more expensive. So if you like the app then buy it, besides you only have about 15-days to do so. Also, if anyone has found a FREE app that converts SWF to AVI then please let us know.

Has anyone tried converting Broken Saints episodes on the Magic SWF2AVI program? It doesn't seem to be working for me. For some odd reason it converts the intro and credits and skips everything else.......strange..........

thanks ive been wanting to play the end of ze world on my PSP

Dont waste your money. Quiktime can open swf/flash files. So you could just export it from quicktime directly to MP4, yes I have tried this and it works.
+
so how do you download them without the programs
+
This seems far too much of a "cheat" for my liking, it's not "Flash Movies" as such, it's just an MPG4.
It's like claiming "XBOX Games on PSP" and just showing a video of those.edited: Apr 22 2005

just view the page source that has the flash you want, then look for the address of the swf file. the you can just open its URL and save it, or if you use a mac or unix based system use wget or curl to grab it if you know how.

you're doing something wrong. downloading flash movies is a bit complicated, but do-able.

Shockwave Flash Objects (.swf files) are usually left in the IE cache. For example, I've kept copies of the JibJab flicks for endless enjoyment without having to download them each time (I'm on dialup).
In IE - Tools, Internet Options, Settings, View FIles. Sort the list on size and that will make the typically huge .swf files float to the top of the list. Drag and drop somewhere to save it.
If by chance the file self-deletes (haven't noticed that happening, but if it did...), then simply halt the player and garb the file before it disappears.
I wonder if moving a file from one folder to another on your PC constitutes a violation of the DMCA... ...if it does, then don't do this in the USA.edited: Apr 22 2005

Well what exactly is not working? can you be more specific. I have all 12 chapters of Nijai on my PSP and they are all flawless.
+
How did you get Ninjai. all of my movies cut off before the end and the sound does not sync up.
I set them to 500x250 and 18fps (the frame size/rate of the movies)
chapter 6 and 7 stop about half way through and I just get sound.
+
Whay do you have to change the frame rate to 18fps? You should set it to original frame rate. This should do it.
FYI.. the reason why you video is cutting off early is cuz ur fps is to fast. The sound cant keep up with it.
Follow my guide and you too can achieve most enlightening viewing pleasure. (in other words, follow my guide and it will tell you how to download SWF movies.)edited: May 01 2005
