Anybody have problems with UMD'S that freeze? It happened to my wipeout pure but i fixed it. *note: this does not apply to scratched UMDs
Ok the main reason for UMD freezing is because of either scratches or dust and other stuff in the actualy UMD casing on the disk.
Scratches are impossible to fix as of now so we will deal with dust!
What you'll need is a vacuum cleaner with the attatchment used to go under fridges, appliances, etc, the one with the thin rectangle end.
Make sure that when you put this attatchment perpendicular to the hole on the UMD that no part of it will touch the actual disk. (it should form a bridge over the hole). Be VERY careful not to ever touch the disk with this attatchment.
Fire up the vacuum cleaner and place the end of the hose with the attatchment bridging over the hole. Move the attatchment across the hole until you suck up all the dust from that section of the disk which is exposed. Next turn the disc hole side down and rotate the disc so that a new part of it is exposed. Refer to the lable on the top so that you know how far to turn it. You turn it by sticking your finger into the metal circle on the UNDERSIDE (with the hole) of the disk and rotating it. If it is hard to rotate it, push it up and rotate at the same time, then let it drop. It seems complicated but you'll understand once you actually try it.
That's it, just repeat till you suck up all the dust on the actual disk. It worked like a charm for me and I hope it works for you too!
