We've taken Majesco's highly anticipated horror-thriller, Infected, for a ride and have survived to tell you about it. Infected is many things. It's gory, bloody, profanity-filled, violent, fun, did we mention gory? With no other game has it been so evident that the PSP is very much a gaming device for adults, not just for kids. The game is also quite in-depth and fun, with a variety of upgradeable weapons and unlockables and a rich and unique multiplayer system. Our copy is only a preview build, but it plays and feels like a finished game.

I just purchased Infected about a week ago. I know it's been out for a while, but this is one of those titles that I forgot about because of the plethora of other games released at the same time. So as fate would have it, I ran across it when I had extra cash and picked it up. What can I say but OMG! This game is the kinda portable fun the PSP was designed for. Must have for anyone who loves, shooters, zombies and unending gore!

I bought Infected even though it got an average score at Gamespot, and while I had fun with it for a day or two, I became extremely disappointed with the game's short single player and extremely laggy online mode.

The single player mode will take you a few hours or so, but nothing more. While there is a character custimazation mode involing a little more personalization to the game, its hardly as deep as it would seem. After you've customized your character, you can go online and "shoot em up". The online mode has horrible lag, and it completely annoys you while you're trying to shoot your opponent down. The control scheme is similar to SOCOM's, although its definitely no where close as deep. The online mode has your opponent skipping all across the screen, and while its tolerable at first, you quickly realize that a game like SOCOM is better suited for this kind of game play, without the horrible lag and the much better gameplay.

This is simple: Get SOCOM instead of Infected. You won't regret it. After I played SOCOM, I put Infected away on the shelf, probably never to be touched again.

I found myself trying this game out at a store and I hated it. I didn't like the controls. I felt like I was playing some thrown together garbage to get a game out that was christmas themed. All through this month I kept thinking about how entertaining the game was. After looking at it for like the 80th time my girlfriend smacks me and says "get it now. Or ill break it over your head". So why not... I get it home and start playing it.

4 hours and like 10 missions later I'm still playing the game. I forgot about the "bad" controls, and focused on the killing. Yes, sooo much killing, HEAD MEAT TASTES GOOD MOMMY!!!! Erm...uh.

This game is great, the music rules, enough extras to make people smile. Great humor, and loads of custom stuff, like costumes and weapon upgrades. For the love of the g-man, get this game and go online and pop some zombie heads. WEEEE BRAAAAINS!!!!!

Yep, it's the first installment of "blowed up zombies" for the PSP. And this one is straight up in your face in many ways. The opening video sequence will probably let you in on the remaining content for this game. Once you see it, you will know if you bought the right game or not.

Graphics - 85

Pretty good. Nothing to cry about really. For some reason I always imagined a bit more animation and detail in the zombie chunks as they compared to what's actually there. It does look good, though, and the levels look nice. They load quickly too. Even when playing online.

Audio - 85

First off, if you can't stand death metal, go buy another title people. There is some screaming loud and in your face music embedded in this title. There is the ability to choose whether its played and even where (menus or in-game or both). So, you have that going for you, which is nice.

Sound effects are great. I love the splatter sounds especially. I do feel like there's too much going on sound wise sometimes though.

Controls - 90

Pretty easy to pick up. Awkward at times when picking it up to play for the first time. Sufficient and I'll leave it at that.

Online Multiplayer - 75

Hey Majesco! How on earth do you plan to have good multiplayer with online one-on-one deathmatches while in infrastructure mode. I sincerely hope that this will change with an add on or patch. While its fun and runs smoothly, its silly not to have more players than two while playing online.

Also, ditch the auto connect to another player thing. Yep, as soon as you connect, the system finds another player and connects you automatically to duel it out. Again, its fun, but today's online consumers want more options. Majesco, just take a look at SOCOM if you want to see how its done. I haven't had the chance to play Ad-Hoc (and probably never will), but it looks better in that there can be up to 8 players simultaneously.

Mowing down zombies has never been so much fun!

The game is crazy cool and the cut scenes and the radio banter while selecting missions is HILLARIOUS! The gameplay is very fast and furious! It takes a little while to complete the missions to achieve a low medal ranking to initially level up. When you start to get upgrades you go back to score higher medal ranks.

As all the pre/reviews have stated it gets addicting pelting tons of zombies and than unleashing massive combo's. The blood effects are pretty cool and the graphics kick the crap out of SOCOM.

As I mentioned on another forum post, I traded SOCOM to get this because my wireless internet connection is horrible where I live, so, I probably won't be able to give a fair review on the infastructure mode.

O.K. for all the kids out there wondering why it is M rated. The blood and violence of the game isn't what give the game the M rating IMO. Because it is really unrealistic and over he top in a humoristic way. This game, like GTA, garners it's M rating primarily from the language. Which kinda sucks because the game is REALLLLY funny and would be a great pick-up for all.

The laughs start flowing from the opening cut-scene and never let up. This game is getting fair marks in the high 70's to mid 80's because it is really repetitive, but in a VERY good way! I will have to play it alot longer to see if it really wears on me. As for now, I am loving every minute of my experience!

I find that some are being too critical of this title, it provides so much of what we want in a game. It has a decent story mode with a ton of unlockables, a variety of online gaming, etc. I have been addicted since it came out, and believe the game is living up to the hype. I have a ton of fun online, and after beating the hell out of someone I get to track my virus via satellite, THATS AWESOME. Overall gameplay is unique, especially with the double gun system and the upgrading technique. Speed, guts, and skill all play a role in this game so it is a game that can be had by all.

Happy gaming, hope to see you online.

I don't know what is all the fuss about this game, for me it's just a shooter whit a lot of blood. What's interesting in that? Nothing. Low, just low...
