The Intec Sound System (ISS) is a simple and inexpensive cradle and speaker system for your PSP. It uses either 3 AA batteries (not included) to power the sound, or you can just use your AC Adaptor. On the front there is a headphone plug, on/off switch, volume buttons and a green indicator light to show that there is power. The unit is incredibly inexpensive at only $30 USD. Unfortunately, in this case you really get what you pay for.

I tried about 3 other sound systems and kept taking them back citing crapness of product. Finally I have plumped for the slightly more expensive Logic 3 sound system for PSP.

The overall look of the product is excellent and the speaker quality (afterall that's what counts) is awesome. I have had this beauty pumped to the max with ridge racer and burnout tracks and there has been no distortion. The unit also has a 2.1 surround sound activator which works pretty well, but this does seem to distort loud playback slightly.

The PSP docks very well with the sound system and the PSP will charge while it is docked, using the power source from the sound system. My only criticism is that the fit is so snug that it is very difficult to switch the power switch of the PSP while it is docked. The subwoofer is the real cruncher, giving real bass sound that actually vibrates the surface at times.

Although not designed to be used playing games while docked, it is possible. But the system comes with a cable to connect your PSP to the system while playing games, so that you can have console in one hand and blasting sounds at the same time.

The unit comes into it's own while watching movies. Pop in a UMD movie and you have yourself one great mobile cinema. The 2.1 surround sound really adds depth here. And if you want to take it away from the mains, no probs. Pop in 4 AA batteries and the sound system will easily outlast the battery on the PSP. True portability (as my 4 year old son has demonstrated on long car journey's).

To round it off the system comes with a neat bag that also has space for holding the PSP, so you can keep both items together.

If you're thinking of getting a sound system, you won't be disappointed with this.
