IPSP is one of the best software. It's simple, user friendly, and quick. You can manage your photos, music, videos (including compression and transfer) gamesaves, PDF converting, documents and bookmarks.

I recommand this software to anyone who own a PSP and a MAC, for $20 it's perfect. There's also a PC version of the software, but I haven't used it.

I bought the first version of this software and it worked fine most times but still had a few bugs. Now the version is completely useless. I am so frustrated with the so called 'support' offered by RNK. This new version is garbage. Do not even download the demo. I give it a 2 because I like d the first version.

While this review concerns the Windows version of iPSP, it is largely reflective of the developers themselves. I was one of the fools who chose to purchase this product on good faith, assuming that the bugs would eventually be worked out. Three months later, the software remains at version 2.0.8, bugs and all. As proof of the ridiculousness of iPSP and laziness of the developers, here's a small list.

1. several of the videos I have encoded contain corrupted data and cannot be transferred to the device (using several different cables, on two different computers). I have verified that the source videos transcoded with different software produce uncorrupted output.

2. The software will crash when the PSP is disconnected, even when the program is not accessing the device.

3. The software inaccurately reports that a new version is available on start up.

Overall, iPSP is full of obvious holes, misssing necessary functionality, and glaringly unfinished. Support requests are either unanswered or offer little help. A PayPal complaint was ultimately dismissed because it fails to cover "virtual goods."

Developer RnSKSoftronics should be ashamed of itself.

This is a huge waste of money, it is extremely buggy. Even if it did work properly, the functionality has alot to be desired. I wouldn't be bothered about even downloading the trial version.

It's good, but not that good. I use it mainly to convert my AVI movies into PSP-to-go ones. The save game feature is good, and the music sync works as promised. Seems to take forever to convert my AVI to MP4 though...

New & Sexy

On March 5, Ronin no Sakurakai Softronics released a Windows version of iPSP and a brand new sexy looking iPSP for Mac. This new version of iPSP has a nice looking interface for picture converting, movie converting, and autobackup.

Using iPSP

When you open iPSP the program tells you that it cannot fully operate without a PSP attached. I was sorry to hear this but clicked the "No, Don't Quit" button to procede into the iPSP interface. The only option available without a PSP attached was movie converting. So I clicked add movie and selected a .wmp movie. I edited a couple of settings - quality, memory stick size, live action etc. I clicked "Start Queue" to begin. However within seconds of pressing start I was given an error message. I have yet to get the video encoding to work.

Pros

* Brand new and sexy Interface

Cons

* Frequent messages about not having purchased
* Video encoding did not work
* Full functionalty only available when PSP is mounted

I agree that this is a very cool app for us mac users. I was one of the first to purchase this for the import PSP but after upgrading to Version 1.1.3b there are still a few problems.

1. a window pops up asking if i want to upgrade to the same version everytine i launch iPSP. when i open the app and choose "Get Info" it still shows me the old version 1.1.2. but when i click on the actual app it shows 1.1.3b. their instructions say that the app will automatically be upgraded once you download new verion.
2. it seems that the when you are trying to sync individual apps (iPhoto, etc) to the PSP the program does not always recognize the request.
3. there is still a problem with speed. syncing a iTunes playlist with about 20 songs took about 1 hour to convert and sync. MUCH too long.
4. after syncing the playlist not all of the album art transfered to the PSP. not a HUGE problem i agree but why some and not all?

The PSP will have a HUGE impact on not only the gaming community but on music, movies, etc. Programs like this need to be made accessible to the layperson. Plug and Play gents...

Rivalled only by the new release of ffmpegx which now also supports encoding to the PSP's MP4 format, iPSP is the one and only tool that you will need for all your PSP's multimedia needs.

I've tested video encoding (which is currently limited to 10 minutes for trial version users) and iLife integration. Apparently, when you create an album/playlist named PSP in iPhoto or iTunes, it is automatically transfered and updated to your PSP the next time u hit the "sync all" option.

The only complaints I have for this utility is that I've had problems on sync'ing videos to PSP on my PowerBook. There's a strange bug that causes it to create all the right folders, but transfering zilich.

Also, benchmarking the encoding process of FFmpegx and iPSP, the latter lags behind abit in terms of speed. But recieves a plus for simplicity and ease-of-use.

I would recommended mac gurus to stick with ffmpegx and for those that want simple operation, to try out iPSP.
