The first thing you will notice is that when you put the UMD into your PSP and the Game menu recognizes it, your background will change and a variety of remixed classic Namco music will play (Pac-Man, Galagage, etc). This is a nice welcome and is indicative of the variety of gaming you can have with this one UMD. I came into it feeling somewhat skeptical, but walked away feeling very happy about my purchase.

This is a OK game. Even tho I dont like the classics I still like the game, I mostly like the arranged versions

Personally, I am a HUGE fan of these old fashioned games especially Galaga! I highly recommend this collection of games if you want a break from RPG's, action games, etc. This is meant for pure fun!

These games play fine. The control is responsive but still not as perfect compared to a joystick. There are neat options to adjust the view for most games and also to configure a games settings such as the number of continues, difficulty, etc. Loading is brief. The updated games are quite fun and looks visually satisfying. The sound quality is spot on for all games. I've encountered no gameplay glitches. Multiplay looks like it was rushed & underdeveloped (i.e. Game-sharing).

Bottom Line: If you enjoy classics like Pac-Man then this game pack has your name on it. I wish the multiplay feature were done properly but a single player experience is fine for me.

Well, it just didn't live up to what I had envisioned. Generally, you can never go back. Whether it be old tv shows, movies and video games. Your brain has become accustomed to so much more.

Gameplay
Very good actually. Pretty much what you would expect from the days when only a button or two and a joystick did it all. Probably the coolest thing is the ability (on some games) to play in the vertical position. This makes the Pac Man and Galaga type games a blast.

All in all, you do get 21 games. Four of these are re-imaginings of Pac Man, Galaga, Dig Dug and Rally X (I've played these four more than anything else). Here's the roundup on the other 17 included games: Pac Man, Ms. Pac Man, Dig Dug, Dig Dug 2, Galaga, Galaxian, Rally X, Rally X 2, Xevious, Grobda, Bosconian, King & Balloon, Mappy, Motos, Dragon Buster, Tower of Druaga and Rolling Thunder.

Graphics
Come on guys. These are from the early 80s. Well, at least the re-imaginings look pretty cool. Still nothing compared to what the PSP can do.

Replayability
Well, for about three or four days I played the heck out of it. The gimmick wore off and I've hardly touched it since. I know there's a load of replayability there, I just don't care.

Overall
When you are starved for new games, you'll buy anything for $40. At least I did. I'll sell it to you for $30.

I bought the Japanese version of the game cheap second-hand and have played it alot. The 'Arrange' versions of Pac-Man and Galaga are especially nice. A great title to own since the games are the type which can be played for a quick fix.

I also like the multiple screen options Namco have included so the original games can be played in different screen-ratios.

Don't expect anything new or revolutionary in this package, or fancy graphics to show off the PSP - these are Namco classics and updated versions of the "same old wine" - but I like it

Blech - I must be the only gamer who actually played these back in the day and has no present day use for them. C'mon Namco - why must you keep recycling the classics endlessly and not put more time into developing new games? Let the past be simply that - the past. Do we really need this?
