This game was one of the worst RPG's I've ever played. So I'll tell why. At first you're this dragon that got frozen and this guy blasts you out than you run around flaming people than all sudden you wake up as a child getting attacked by wolves. Than this guy comes and saves your this lion guy. He brings your to his home and comforts you.
Lets get on with the game play and all that. The graphics are Ok. but they couldn't upgrade the graphics from the originals? And another thing they don't explain what your should do clear enough I just started this game and im stuck and havnt even battled and I've been playing for 48 mins. And the battles are even worse they pop up everywhere and the storyline is hard to understand the battles really stink cause your battle and don't even go up to the monster and him.. Overall this game is a major rpg put down

I remember back in 97 when this came out. Very cool game, solid story and good turnbased system. One of the better RPGs I've played, I think this was the best of the series. Only those who played this can really appreceiate this game. But the only gripe is that nothing has changed. That's good and bad. Good cause the game is just as great as we remember, but bad cause no new content. It would have been nice if Capcom added more to this already classic revival. May be more dragon genes, a new character, anime movies to to the tale, something to enchance this beauty. But overall still a great game for the RPG lovers.
Presentation - 85
Very colorful and still a great story.
Graphics - 80
Looks SNES, but highly animated characters who emit little battle cries during combat, a polygonal landscape wherein you must use the manual camera to peek around objects and walls to discover hidden objects and characters.
Sound - 90
It's hard not to like the ear candy, brings back memories.
Gameplay - 80
Turnbased and 3 member parties, similiar to most RPGs.
Lasting Appeal - 70
One of the few RPGs that gets better with age. Over 900 different dragon gene splicing! You'll be back at least one every few months.

This is classic PS1 RPG'ing at its finest right down to the low-res trees and buildings, a great game a must of any RPG fan.

The game is a true port from the PS1. Load times aren't noticable, graphics are a bit smoother from the playstation version, I will definetly play it one more time. This game is a true RPG and I can't wait until there is an English version.
