Colin McRae has to be the finest Rally game I have played on any console and I have played it on most other machines as well as Rallisport Challenge and Richard Burns Rally. How Codemasters have managed to squeeze all this into one UMD for the PSP amazes me. The game leans towards the realistic side of Rally driving and you really feel like you're there crashing and bumping about in one of those 30 perfectly reproduced cars. Tey even managed to add the classics like my favourite Mini Cooper S which is great fun to do handbrake skids and jumps in.
If you look carefully enough your and your co-pilots name are stickered to the rear side windows of your car. The lush, beautifully drawn landscapes with distance view that will have you pulling over and forgetting the Rally thing and just gazing off at the viewpoint.
The gameplay is huge with lots of Rally cars & country's, each with lots of tracks to challenge you. This game will certainly challenge, but this is not road racing, easy steering and arcade style driving, this is a simulation of Rally driving at its best, realistic handling and views with lots more. I would highly recommend this game.

For years now Colin McRae Rally has been the definitive console rally game. It has provided us with a fun semi realistic rally game that everyone from beginner to hardened gamer can enjoy. Now Colin McRae has come to the PSP.
There was an initial fear with the announcement of this game that it was not suitable for a handheld. Anyone that has played previous games will know that a rally takes a long tome to complete. Not something you might have time to do while on the bus to work. For this reason the game features special five minute stages and automatically saves both your progress and your best time if you need to turn of the console.
Graphically the game is very similar to its console counterparts. I would say that it is easily a graphical rival. The one drawback of the PSP is that the screen, being so sharp does make the lack of anti-aliasing very apparent when the cars and scenery are stationary. When you’re mid race however everything fly’s past so quickly that you don't notice. If anything, it’s actually sharper.
As with most PSP games there is also a network play option with up to 8 players possible at one time.
There are a 30 cars in total, split into 2WD 4WD and Classic. With 23 events and over 300 stages this game is going to keep you entertained for hours.
For an alternative try WRC, definately the more technical of the two games but just as fun.
