Many of you are surely used to the futuristic Anime that comprise the genre's seemingly endless supply of movies. Steamboy takes a drastically different approach, putting Ray, the teenage hero into a dangerous 19th century Britain where the power of steam is being taken to new heights. Old in setting, but no less epic in content, cult-classic Akira creator and director Katsuhiro Otomo molds an intense and grossly engaging story about power and greed that should be seen by all Anime fans. ...
Even though I got my PSP a few moths ago, it's still a novelty for me. I choose my movies based on what I think would look good on that screen. This movie didn't do it for me.
After seeing Apleseed on the PSP I was blown away and started longing for more anime on UMD. I was really looking forward to this release.
The movie plot is OK but not great. I can get over that. What I didn't really like is that most of the movie has a dark, gloomy look to it. I understand that's probably what the director wanted since he wanted to reflect an industrial feel to it. There's nothing wrong with that but I, for instance, want the graphics on the PSP to captivate me.
Don't get me wrong I liked the movie, just not for the PSP.
