First off i'd like to say that this is a GREAT game.
Sound
The sound is super, with great techno music for an electronic mech game. There are times however, when I just want to put my own radion up full blast listening to something nice and hard, especially when you get to the end of the R-League. (get to it later)
Controls
The controls are so freaking hard. There are two ways you can fight a battle. One manual, firing. You do. Suffering. You do. Second is AI. when the AI plays on its own (which you can set up the AI technquies in the setup of a mech)
Gameplay
No storyline, basically you're in a gladiator style of fighting with Mechs. There are leagues and you create your own. no one joins you. You have 5 bots so you don't have to keep customizing, even though I still always do. The beginning is kinda easy, but when you get past the beginning (you'll know when) then it gets so hard you'll find yourself playing it on AI and keep retrying after every lossing match.
Graphics
The graphics are beautiful, sleek, and yet, makes ya hate the 45sec. loading screens (not as long as Untold Legends Brotherhood, but still a little too long). Yet the graphics as sweet.
Overall
Overall I would buy it all over again if I had to. It's a great game, and I'm still playing it, so I don't even know whats past the R-Leagues. I'm ranked 21st there also and its so flabbing hard, but good.

Having only played the first Armored core on the PS1 briefly I knew the titles could be fun. But I never, ever expected this degree of addictiveness. Graphics are exceptional for a first gen title. Probably decent for a 3rd year PSP title as well. Music is nothing special but the sound effects and incredible fun factor make this a real good value pick up.
A must play for any PSP fan. Rent or borrow if not sure, buy if you like mechs and customizing mechs, this is ALOT of fun.
Music - 65 - Pretty simplistic, could easily be improved upon.
Graphics - 89 - Very sharp and bright w/ fully customizeable mech color.
Control - 80 - Decent movement control and solid weapon control.
Gameplay - 91- Extremely deep, and grows on you week after week.
Originality - 60 - Tried and true formula of AC series.
Fun Factor - 88 - Could cause you to stop playing consoles for a week.
Value - 95 - w/ multiplayer or solo, this title keeps you coming back for more. Truly exemplary depth and a steal for $40.

This is what we have been waiting for, the beefed up English version of the all time favorite series, Armored Core! I've been waiting for this since launch of the Japanese version and even tempted myself to buy that version, but finally its out and I bought it the first day I saw it. This was cheaper than the usual PSP games (260 HKD) thus it was not that heavy on my wallet. I've been playing it since I got it, for atleast 16hrs now and still rolling.
This game has many aspects to it that makes it an unique title and a game thats worth getting. You are part of a team who enters into the Armored Core Leauge. Your job is to Tune/Create/Modify your Armored Core Units and their AI and fight them through the ranks. In this special version, you can also control it! It takes alot of time to fine tune your AC and it takes time to alter the AI to match what you want.
The controls are nearly the same as the PS2 presuccesors, just with 1 less analog stick and 2 sets of are and L buttons. The controls are fairly simple and once your used to it, its very easy to manuvure your AC. The game automatically does the vertical tracking for you whilst in the PS2 ones, you had to do the full job.
Load times are not that long, a few seconds to load into battle and Assembly page. I'd say this is pretty fast for an UMD game.
Awesome. You'd be amazed by the details in the ACs. Every part makes the AC look different!
Good'ol AC Music. Nothing beats it.
Get or you'll regret it. Value buy.
