This screen protector is very easy to apply and easy to get rid of air bubbles. However I was disappointed that the protector doesn't cover the entire PSP screen. It also attracted a lot of dust after the thing was on. Overall this is one of the best screen on the market.

I've had my Hori screen protector on my PSP for about a year now, and there isn't a single scratch on the surface. It's as if there's an ultra-thin sheet of glass on my PSP.

More importantly, the screen protector does not change the quality of the image. It's so crystal clear, it's almost invisible -- only the edges of the screen protector give it away.

The adhesive works great as well. It seems to be a silicone-based adhesive which doesn't leave residue on the screen when removed. Furthermore, it hasn't lost it's "stickiness". The edges of the screen protector are just as secure as they were when first applied. No peel-up here.

I take very good care of my PSP, but I'm still surprised that there are no scratches on this screen protector. I've tried two or three other protectors before this one, and the Hori is by far the best.

While any screen protector is better than one at all, some are better than others. Many screen protectors tend to blur the image underneath, either because of the anti-scratch or anti-glare coating. Others pick up scratches really quickly. Thankfully, the Hori suffers from none of these flaws.

If there's a downside to the Hori screen protector, it's that it doens't really reduce glare, but that's ok with me.

Highly recommended.

It was cheap, easy to put on and the screen is still crystal clear after you put it on, unlike some protecters. I don't understand how people didn't know that the filter was between the 2 sheets...it says it is right in the instructions. As long as you read them putting it on is a snap

I'm the type that has spare pieces of LCD monitor OEM contrast enhancement films sitting around - the kind that you see on the glossy laptop LCD screens sold today.

Well, that's what I used when I got my Japanese PSP years ago, and it lasted well until the day it had too many scratches on it.

So off it came and on came the Hori, which I saw at a local store, and thought for the $5.99, why not?

The application was even easier than the laptop contrast enhancement film I had applied earlier -- nice tabs on the protective temporary films on both sides of the Hori made it easy to remove them. The 'sticky' Hori wasn't at all like the laptop film - you can peel it off and reposition if needed (still, best to give it one go). And the included small cleaning cloth did a great job at removing almost all of the dust off the screen before applying the Hori (you can almost never get rid of all dust unless you've got a clean room environment when applying these films).

Smartly, they say that you can use scotch tape to remove the one or two dust particles that get under the Hori - just peel the hori back, then use the tape to remove the dust. That works, but again, if you can get the Hori on in one try, that's the way to go.

Once applied, it was easy to unbubble the Hori, and voila! silky smooth screen protector that doesn't block or hinder the viewing angle or brightness of the LCD screen, doesn't cause moire effects, and simply works great! It doesn't peel off or fall off after use either.

They've got some sort of coating on the Hori, so it doesn't just look like a plastic sheet on the PSP, but rather, something that could be OEM.

Highly recommended, cheap, works and installs great, and unbubbles easily!

I strongly suspect that this product has been changed since most of these reviews were written. The first one that I received was defective; either the filter was backwards, or the tabs had been mislabeled. I ended up following the directions exactly and putting it on sticky-side up. By the time I was able to actually see that it was backwards (I handled it only by the edges to prevent fingerprints), the sticky side was already covered with dust and scratched by the card I was using to remove bubbles. Applying tape would not clean the sticky side, so the filter was ruined.

Fortunately, the folks at Decalgirl.com understood the problem, and sent me out a replacement at no charge. This one was properly labeled, but that didn't change the fact that it was a very low-grade product. No matter how I applied the filter, there were always bubbles under the left edge, lower left corner, and lower right corner that were impossible to remove. I spent over an hour scraping at the bubbles with the card and reapplying the filter from every possible angle. I turned the PSP on to see how noticable the bubbles were, and found that they distorted the image along that edge. I also noticed that the supposed anti-glare benefit was pretty lacking; I could still clearly see my face reflected in the screen even in moderate lighting.

Before you disregard all of this as user error, understand that I knew exactly what I was doing before I dared to remove the first protective film on the filter. The first attempt failed because of a defect; namely, that the labels were swapped. When I got the replacement, I peeled back the first film a bit at one corner and lightly touched the very edge to make sure that it was the sticky side. It was. I aligned the filter carefully with the screen before letting it come to rest. Even so, bubbles appeared under the edges, and they could not be removed.

After finally removing the filter and throwing it away in disgust, I noticed that it had left long, thin scratches on the screen. I had pulled the edge of the filter up with tape and removed it very slowly, yet it had scratched the screen in places anyway. Fortunately these scratches are very thin, and not visible when the PSP is on.

I bought this based on the reviews I read here, and if you're thinking about doing the same, please take a moment to consider this before you place an order. You're going to pay anywhere from $6.50 to $8.00 for a flimsy piece of plastic that is nearly impossible to apply correctly. Even if the item you receive is not defective in some way, you are likely to ruin it simply by touching the wrong side of the filter or by getting dust on the sticky side while repeatedly removing and reapplying it to try and eliminate the bubbles.

I will not be buying another screen filter of any kind. If and when the faceplate screen becomes damaged enough to detract from the PSP's usefulness, I will replace the faceplate entirely. A filter seems to be far more trouble than it could possibly be worth.

I don't know why people had a problem with this filter. Mine applied easily and looks great. Super clear, much better than the Pelican one. Got mine at amazon.com.

This screen protector is very clear that you can barely notice it when it is on the PSP. The only thing noticable are the two sides of the screen. The screen protector produces two blue lines outside of the screen on either side but that's very small and it is no bother while playing games or watching a movie. I tried scratching the sreen with my fingernail and nothing showed. The only thing that does show are fingerprints but they are easily removed with a cleaning cloth.

This screen protector was my first and I had no knowledge of putting on screen protectors. I read the instructions and they seemed very easy. The instructions were Japanes so if you do not know how to read Japanese it will be very difficult (unless they have some in English). The problem was that they were not so simple to follow. So much dust gets under the screen protector that you have to use their method of using tape on the screen protector to get rid of the dust. This does work but more dust comes on when you are trying to get rid of other dust. After a while I gat almost all the dust and I was satisfied.

Once it is on it's great. Get it.

99
Goes on easy. Any trapped air is simple to remove and the single dust particle I managed to get was easily removed with a bit of sticky tape. Does not darken screen and does exactly as it's supposed to.

Hori also supplied me with an English copy of the instructions within 24 hours of contacting them. Other manufacturers take note!

The Hori screen protector works just as it says so and is simple to install. Inside the pack includes one Hori screen protector and a cleaning cloth. The screen protector itself when out of the package is sandwiched between two pieces of plastic that protects the viewing side and the side that attaches to the PSP.

After cleaning the PSP screen with the cloth provided, placing the screen protector on is very easy with the easy to read instructions but can take some time as the film is thin and bubbles can be formed under it very easily. The screen protector can be easily removed by sticking a piece of sticky tape on a corner of the screen protector and gently lift the screen protector away and when taken off it does not leave any residue on the screen. The bonus is when you make a mistake you can take it off and redo the installation because the screen protector is reusable.

After the Hori screen protector was on, the image on the screen was still clear and sharp and the built-in glare reduction is quite good and manages to get rid of the glare well and is almost impossible to see when on and is scratch resistant as well. Overall if installed properly the Hori screen protector is a very good choice and costs only $10 (look out for fakes and buy from trusted sellers).

This product is truly the best, and if I could give it over 100, I would. Why? It not only does it's job PERFECTLY, being crystal clear and protecting the screen, it also improves my viewing experience when playing in the dark. How? Before the filter, at the bottom of the screen there would be some slightly darker parts that the backlight didn't reach well for some reason. The screen is lit up better with the filter on, because the way light reflects off and illuminates the filter (Its designed to do this for anti-glare purposes, and a side effect is what I described above). This product is better than perfect. Amazing.

95
Before this I have tried another scren protector, horrible! With Hori your screen is well protected and the visiblity remanins the same! Great Product! It's not cheap but the quality is high!

96
This little gem is simply a must have for any PSP owner. After having read numerous reviews from just about all sites available, I decided that this was the case for me. It was sooooooo easy to put on and align. Within minutes I had to look closely since it virtually dissapears. Overall - excellent investment.

The Good
• Material seems great, comes in such a well packaged case.. easy to follow instructions, (some steps are left out though, but can be "inferred" by the reader).
• Protector itself is as clear as day.
• Instructions tell you to do under "What if.." Situations, such as Air bubbles, dust under the protector, or removing the protector.
• Impossible to notice the protector unless you examine the system.

The Bad
• Put your PSP in sunlight, the edges appear to be blue.
• When you peel the tabs holding the screen, dust seems to attack the adhesive layer.. leaving unattractive signs of dust under your protector. This can be fixed from un-applying the protector itself, and removing the grime with tape.
• Leaves nasty, nasty, nasty marks if you peel off the protector with your nail. DONT DO IT. Instead, get some tape, stick it on the edge of the protector that you want, and pull.

Overall
Amazing clarity. A must buy for those who worry about their screen 24/7.

I've used mine for a few months and am going to remove it. Seems like it collects dust around the corners, and reduces the clarity of some of my videos.

It's a nice idea and I'll probably keep my eye out for an improved one.

This is my second review for the Hori protective filter. You might have guessed that I failed the first time and you are right. But the second time I went out and purchased a new one and slowly and carefully put this sucker on. I was astonished in my first try (2nd time around) I got it on, but with inly 2 air bubbles. I easily removed them with the given cleaning cloth. I did not get any dust underneath at all and once I turned on the PSP it was wicked clear.

Read the instructions carefuly. The first time I rushed. The thing is I read reviews that it was easy to put on but it wasn't it takes time and patience. So please take your time and in the end I hope you all will be as successful as I.

All in all it's a fantastic screen cover and is not as expensive as other screen protectors and is high quality inlike the pixelated Lelican Protector ewwwww. I'd give this produst a 100 but it takes a butt load of time to put it on.

94
This is an extremely nice protector without blurring the clarity of the PSP. I gave this a 94 since I have some blue stuff at the side and I can't take them off. I bought these in New York and they even helped me put it on. They did it so fast that no hairs or dust particles went in the back.

The Hori screen protector is an amazing piece of kit that no self-respecting PSP owner should be without. To put it simply this screen protector is crystal clear, easy to apply, and almost inisible to the eye. I've had my Hori protector from the 1st second I received my PSP, and till today people still don't know it's there.

Yes, the instructions are in Japanese and they only give you one protector but if you take your time, follow the diagrams (they're universal, you don't need to understand a word of Japanese) this screen protector applies like a dream without a single air bubble. Quality is amazing as it offers protection while not affecting your display, giving you an extremely crisp image that you'd expect from your PSP.

Trust me on this one, this is the best screen protector out there.

96
You can't find this in Portugal, so I had to order it from Japan, and the instructions came in Japanese (duh!), so, I guess this was the main reason I had to buy two of them. When the 2nd one arrived I had a new PSP (right out of the box), and asked my gifted girlfriend to put it on. She manage to do it beautifully (you just have to be good with your hands - lol - ask a girl to do this).

One can hardly notice the filter, and it really protects your screen, as you can clean it with your shirt in the heat of a game. For me it was not cheap though, cost me 11Eur (~15USD), and I bought two of them. Then again, it was worth the price.

91
It's nice to have a protective filter. I would have liked mine more if it didn't already have scratches on it after I removed the protective coverings. But I can live with it because it's near the bottom of the screen so it doesn't block anything. It makes it easier to keep your screen clean and scratch free. I recommend getting it.

96
Worth every cent! Reduces glare, keeps the screen free of dust and scratches, and is so clear that you can't tell it's on.

100
It was a bit awkward putting it stuck to the PSP but when I finally did I realized it was a breeze. I had one of those little "holes" on the PSP screen that I'm not sure how I got, but after placing the filter I can't even notice it anymore.

100
I bought a screen protector and it made the screen all fuzzy and horrible looking. I went up to another store to get Madden 06 and saw this screen protector for $4, and this is the best and first item you should get for your PSP.

Highly recommended. Easy to install, just take your time!

85
I bought this screen guard for 5 bucks and it was a great price. I had some difficulty putting on this thing on, but when I finally finished I had air bubbles. : ( I turned on the PSP and the screen was so clear. Well I guess I am one of those people that have difficulty putting on these plastic screen guard.

1
I wasted $10 on this piece of crap. It only brings one protector compared to 2 from the other company. Applying this screen was awkward and impossible. I ended up throwing the thing away in the trash where it belongs.

99
It's hard to write anything that hasn't already been said about this screen protector. Works like a charm, easy to apply, fits perfectly and does it job very well. The instructions are in Japanese though (naturally), but you should be able to figure out how to apply the film from looking at the pictures inside the instructions.

98
this protector is fantastic!!! I just bought it today after a long time of reading all the reviews for screen protectors. It took two seconds to put on, no bubbles, no creases, nothing. just a perfect PSP screen it looks exactly like there is nothing on the screen. Highly recommend if you are looking for a great screen protector. And for $5 you can not go wrong.

95
Oerfect protection for the PSP's totally awesome LCD screen. Makes scratches invisible but get it before you get scraches. Only flaw (very minor) is that you have to get it on right within the first 2-3 tries, or you might get dust stuck on the adhesive side. Great pricetag. It'll make you feel extremely comfortable with your PSP, practically comfortable enough to slip into your pocket without the neat squishy case.

97
In this review I will be comparing the Hori Protective filter with the Peilcan Protective screen.

When I first bought my PSP, the clerk at Gamestop recommended that I also purchase a screen protector. It is a very beautiful screen and it should be protected. The protector the clerk pointed out to me was the Pelican screen protector. As soon as I put the Pelican on the screen I notices a lot of clarity reduction. There was no dust or bubbles, but it was like looking at a digital camera image with a huge amount of noise. The Pelican seems to cause some RGB distortion. After reading the reviews here and on some other sites, I decided to order the Hori Protective Filter from EB Games.

When I got the filter I read the directions, steamed up my bathroom to get all the dust out of the air and proceeded to apply the filter. The filter is very easy to install, I did get one small bubble and one small piece of dust, but the directions said exactly how to fix this. Take a piece of tape and pull up the corner. Then remove the dust, or smooth out the bubble. The Hori is amazingly clear. I do not even notice that there is a screen protector on it. It is easy to clean, and is fairly scratch resistant. Most importantly it protects the amazing PSP screen from scratches. It is definitely a great product. The PSP should come with one of these.

99
This is a must have, period. I can wipe it off with pretty much any kind of cloth and it looks completly clean, no scratches. Also, I had some small scratches on my screen allready. To my amazement, the Hori protector made all of those scratches vanish. It is a bit tricky to put on, especially if you imported a JPN one like I did.

99
I made the mistake of purchasing the JAVOscreen 2.0 (FYI ... Complete piece of CRAP!) before I ordered the Hori Screen Protector and I firmly believe that my review will not come close to doing this amazing product the justice it deserves...

The Hori screen protector was everything JAVO's was not. It came with a user friendly set of instructions. It went on without a fuss and during gameplay I literally cannot tell that it is there. And neither can my brothers for that matter. We did a test since all three of us have PSP's and they expect me to be the guinea pig as far as purchasing accessories and games go.

In case the other positive feedback hasn't convinced you to buy this screen protector, perhaps because you have had a nasty experience with screen protectors like me, all I can say is don't be a fool, wrap your PSP with a Hori Screen Protector.

It's cheap, it works, and it's easy. Not only that but Hori does not make its product out to be something that it isn't.

99
This is THE LCD protector to have!! It really does have 3 layers , there is 0 glare, and I also believe that it filters out the harm that is done to your eyes when you play a long time. Even though it's all in Japanese I LOVE it LOVE it LOVE it!!!!

92
Awesome screen protector, very easy detailed instructions, simple to put on, just line it up to the screen and it just glides on. But PLEASE make sure the PSP screen is immaculate and there are no fingerprints on the sticky side of the filter or else it will be noticable. I have to get another one beacuse of this, but it's cool tho cus it not expensive at all, I HIGHLY recommend.

99
I tried using the Mad Catz protector since the EB Games near me was all sold out of the Hori, BIG MISTAKE. Even though the Mad Catz came with a large amount (like 5 or 6) none of them went on well. After reading about the different kinds I decided to try to find a Hori locally and I did (yay). I got home and applied it on a brand new PSP (exchanged my scratched screen PSP) and other than some dirt trapped under the screen it went on like a charm. Not a single air bubble and except for the dirt is completely unnoticeable. A must buy for any PSP owner. Just make sure you read the instructions VERY carefully.

99
Invisible force field of protection. People will not even notice you have a screen protector. Yet it is strong. In Chinatown (NYC) they are bundling this with your PSP. Its that good.

98
Pros
• 5 bucks!!
• incredibly clear
• easy to obtain(EB Games)
• comes with a little cloth!

Cons
• in my opinion it was pretty tough to apply

95
This screen protector is the best one I've seen that you don't have to order from another country. You get one filter, which goes on without any adhesive, and is absolutely clear once applied. Waaaay better than the Pelican brand one. Recommeded.

95
I originally purchased the Pelican filters. They were horrible. This filter on the other hand is beautiful. It is difficult to install without trapping anything underneath but dust comes off easily with a piece of tape. I did not have any air bubbles even after pulling the screen off a couple of times to remove dust. Reapplied beautifully every time. Screen is crystal clear. The protector is slightly noticeable on very dark screens but completely transparent most of the time. One strange thing, after removing dust and reapplying the filter I noticed some very slight defects and what look like a bit of residue from the tape that I used to remove dust. I found them a bit annoying but decide I could live with them and left it alone. When I picked it up to play a few hours later, the tape marks/defects had disappeared. It seemed that protector had settled in. Thought I would mention it in case anyone else was tempted to mess with alot to get it perfect. Just let it sit for awhile and it might fix itself.

98
Compared to the awful Pelican filter (which makes the screen look blurry), this filter is absolutely flawless. Like everyone else says, you literally cannot tell it is there, no joke! One word of caution though, there are two different versions of these!

The better one has no Japanese writing on it, it's all in English. I tried the one with Japanese writing all over it, and the adhesive is weak and gets airbubbles very easily which are hard to keep out. The English one has a very good silicone gel adhesive which literally glides onto the screen and leaves NO airbubbles if you just let it glide itself on.

And once it's on and you turn the screen on, it is INVISIBLE! Absolutely amazing. There are other more expensive brands that are just as good (Javo, Boxwave, Brando, Martin Fields), but for the money these can't be beat.

94
I imported the Japanese version from Lik-Sang, and it's perfect. It's actually kind of stiff, like a card, making it very easy to apply. It comes with a lint-free dusting cloth to prep your screen too. Once applied, you honestly don't notice it's there. It's also tougher than the PSP screen surface, so you can wipe smudges off with a t-shirt and it won't scratch up.

97
Awesome product, clear as water, only $8 will make any PSP owner happy to have.

93
Ii paid 2.99 at EBgames locally and was impressed. easy to put on without air pockets, very scratch resistant, and so clear you cant even tell its on there!!

100
Excellent is all I can say. If you do have minor scratches on you screen, the bonding agent will make them dissapear while it's on your screen.

85
That's the best way to describe the Hori screen guards. Of the ones that you can buy in a store (EB Games for this particular one), this is probably the best one you can buy. It was nice and clear and I liked it.

Unfortunately, I had trouble putting it on and I got lots of dust below it. This caused lots of problems for me, since I couldn't use tape to easily get stuff off of it.

But if you don't want to order anything online, this is your best option for screen protectors you can buy at a Brick and Mortar store. If you can buy online, I would suggest you go for a Brando or Martin Fields one.

98
I first tried the Pelican screens for $8.99 at Walmart, they SUCK! The screen is blurry and the bright white parts of the screens are "shimmery". The Hori Protective Filter is much! I first put it on but it had a lot of air bubbles (wrong side), so I flipped it and it just glided on very smoothly, like film over water, without any air bubbles. If there are 1 or 2 bubbles, you can peel it off slightly and put it back on easily. You can also get rid of easily seen pieces of dust by peeling it up, dabbing the dust with Scotch tape, and reapply. Trust me, if placed correctly this works like magic! Also, the screen seems to repel dust and fingerprints, you can easily wipe them away easier with this screen on. Everyone needs this on their beloved PSP! You can get 1-sheet at EBgames for $4.99. I checked the internet for Martin Fields, Boxwave screen protectors: $12.99 + tax + $5 shipping for ONE Sheet?!!! Forget them!

91
I've gone through 4 different screen protecters since I've gotten my PSP Pelican and Clarivue. Both of these blurred the screen and where a pain to apply with out getting dust on them (especially the clarivue). So when I heard the good things about the Hori protecters I picked one up for 5 bucks which is a great deal considering the crappy pelicans cost 10. When I opened up the Hori case I found more instructions on how to install the screen protecter and a different type of cloth that the others didnt have. Whats good about the Hori protecter is the screen protecter is between two pieces of plastic when you get it so you don't have to worry about either side having dust on it. Having two pieces of plastic also made it easier to install since when you pulled up on the last piece of plastic on the front of the screen protecter it lays it down on the PSP perfectly no bubbles at all. But I looked down and what do I see a nice piece of hair from the cloth under the protecter (here we go again) so I peeled up the protecter and tried to get it out with my finger ( DONT DO THIS EVER) which just left more smudge marks. After this I thought my protecter was shot but NO the instructions said to use masking tape to remove dust I was alittle on the doubtful side that it would remove the smudges but to my surprise it removed them perfectly now the screen protecter is like new. Now for the final test does this blur my screen so I turned it on and NO BLUR at all just as good as a bare PSP screen. So overall I give these a 100 no blur and can actually be cleaned just use masking tape it works perfectly.

96
Works exactly as advertised. The instructions are easy to read and understand. The installation process was very simple and quick. Keep in mind that this is the FIRST screen protector I have ever bought for any electronic, and I was able to install this perfectly in the first try.

First, clean your PSP screen (duh). The actual Protective Filter is sandwiched between two sheets, one with a red tab and one with a blue tag for easier installation. The sheet with the red tab covers the sticky side of the filter. You remove the sheet with the red tab, then, with the sticky side facing the PSP screen, line up the Protective Filter with the screen and apply starting from one side and across until the Protective Filter covers the entire screen. The Protective Filter is 97.5 mm by 55.5 mm, which is about 1 mm longer in length and 0.5 mm longer in width than the PSP screen, so you have to be careful when lining up the Protective Filter. You don't have to worry too much though, because the sticky side leaves NO residue on the screen.

Right after placing the Protective Filter on the screen, you'll notice these huge air bubbles, but they are easy to remove. Just run your fingers starting from the middle to the sides to push the air bubbles out. You don't need to use a credit card unless you really want to (I didn't). Then, to remove the sheet with the blue tag, place 1 finger one the middle of the screen and pull the blue tab. That’s it, you’re done!

There is zero loss in image quality. In fact, you can't even tell the Protective Filter is there! Plus it's cheap. I got mine for $4.99 from EBGames, which is cheaper than the Brando and the Martin Fields Screen Protector.
